Michael Glover better known as "Optimus Prime" in NYC after not being cleared to play for Seton Hall a few years ago is KILLING at Iona College so far in his first division 1 season.  After watching him abuse just about everyone that he has come up against in every kind of summer tournament from Pro-Am to the streets the last couple of years I was wondering if he would be able to be even close to that same player under the whistle in a true organized setting.  So far he is proving to be a beast at the college level.  He is only 6’7 but I think he will get NBA looks even though he is basically an undersized four because he is just a machine who knows how to get buckets and rebounds well.  Just someone who will probably be under the radar that people on this site should keep an eye on.  By the way his numbers will be sick in MAAC conference play this year, there is nobody in that league that can contain him.

I saw him play at the Syracuse/Iona game last week. I was excited because of his numbers but it was funny, even though he put up 25 and 16 or something like that he wasn’t that impressive. Great rebounder, but every one of his points came from an alley-oop or from great passes to the baseline, where he basically just hung out. Iona did a great job of breaking down the zone and getting him the ball for easy lay-ins. He didn’t make a single one-on-one move the whole game, but he didn’t really have to. He has a very weird frame and plays extremely hard. Interesting player.
