I am a huge Memphis fan and have been for a few years and I was wondering how this scenario would affect these players draft stock. Somewhere I read that we are the favorites to land John Wall and now recently DeMarcus Cousins. With the already signed Xavier Henry, and the possible chance of Tyreke Evans returning, how will that affect each plays stock having to share the ball with so many great players? I know Wall doesn’t need the ball to flourish as he can make plenty of plays by passing the ball, but Tyreke doesn’t seem like he could. I haven’t seen Henry or Cousins play yet, so I don’t know how they would play with that. Any opinions?

if evans doesnt leave for the draft, its doubtful memphis would get wall. but even if evans stays, an experienced evans, henry, and possibly cousins would be arguably the best top 3 in the country in terms of talent.

Their stock will remain unaffected, ie. Maggette 6th man freshman year got drafted 12th or 13th. With all those great players playing together they would probably bring out the best in each other. They would almost assuredly win the national championship if they could play together as a unit, which would also help their stock. It will definately be interesting if they all go to Memphis.

agreed, Wall goes elsewhere if Evans stays, but it looks like unless Mike Davis gets the Alabama job, which isn’t impossible at all, that Cousins will go to Memphis. Even still, I dont think it’s a championship combo. The reason Derrick Rose was so dominant and almost led them to a Championship a year ago is because there was a very solid veteran core already in place. They would probably be very good, but It might just turn into the one and done show, with too much talent for 1 ball. It would certainly be interesting, I havent seen Henry but Cousins is an animal, Conference USA wont know what to do against him.

Yeah, I just read that Wall wouldn’t go there most likely if Tyreke stays, in place of him another five star freshman is favoring Memphis in Latavious Williams. Even if they couldn’t all get their touches that would be on extremely fun team to watch especially the way Calipari runs an offense.

I think they could be the 2009 version of Michigan, because when Michigan was at they’re peek they had a decent amount of NBA prospects on the same team.UNLV had the same thing going for them as well. In my opinion all these guys should go to Memphis if possible, just because if you’re a guy that wants to be 1 and done there is no better place to go. Especially if you want to win in the process, Calipari does a great job with that kind of elite talent even if they don’t stick around very long. Wall is key because the Tigers are in dire need of a point. Cousins would take this class to another level as far as having a true scoring big man something the Tigers haven’t had in a while. But I must agree with the fact that they played so well in the last 4 years because they did have such a veteran core, that class that gave them Antonio Anderson,CDR,Shawne Williams,Dozier was a good class that gave them that good core, because you had some guys that you knew would stick around for 3 or 4 years and develop. But as a die hard Memphis fan, I hope all these guys look at the fact that if you want to go pro the Tigers are a good look for these guys. X.Henry is key he’s a player.

If Evans returns, I really like him running the point with Henry. What a backcourt. They don’t need wall but he would be great off the bench. If they get Cousins, forget it they are a Final Four team no doubt.
