    I just looked on the ESPN website and saw Melo with a number 7 Knicks jersey.

    Are they just guessing because of the fact that #15 is retired or is that number actually what Melo has chosen.

    Would be a definite number I would wear. 7 was always my lucky number, and when I was dreaming of playing in the NBA I saw myself wearing some version of number 7. I thought 27 might be a possiblity, kind of start a new thing. I looked it up on basketball-reference and 242 players have wore number 7 (45 number 27). Only a few guys are wearing 7 currently, Lamar Odom, DeSagana Diop, Andrea Bargnani, Al Harrington, Ersan Ilyasova, Royal Ivey, Jeremy Lin, Troy Murphy, Jermaine O’Neal, JJ Redick and Brandont Roy. However, there have been a bunch of players still playing who have rocked 7 at one time. Always kind of interesting when a guy changes their number, I can’t hate on Melo picking 7.
