Where do you guys place melo in the MVP voting?

I have him tied for 2nd behind lebron. Melo and tony Parker 2.a and 2.b

Yea, like Kevin Durant said, everything Melo is throwing up is falling he’s found a nice rhythm, I think he will continue the hot streak and win the scoring title.

Carmelo has played his role as a scorer and has done a hell of a job but hasnt effected the game enough overall consistently throughout the season to have a legitimate shot at MVP. Definitly been ballin though, especially lately.

With all of you but i gotta ask this question. What does Durant do or brings to his team that melo doesn’t? Defensively they’re pretty equal even if durants avg at lest 1 block and 1 steal its due to his length. If you watch the thunders his defense is avg

I created an account (finally) just to reply to you,

Durant brings scoring efficiency, (slight lead in ppg over melo) and shoots 64.4 TS% to Carmelo’s 56%

You seem to have your mind set about KDs defence, although basketball reference shows KD with 5 Defensive win shares to Carmelos 1.9…

Defensive rebounding Durant 6.9 to Carmelos 4.6

Offensive rebounding Durant 0.5 to Carmelos 1.7

Assists Durant 4.4 to Carmelos 2.5

Turnovers Durant 3.5 to Carmelos 2.6

So Durant is the more efficient scorer, better defender (whether you decide to agree or not…) better defensive rebounder, and better passer (despite the TOs) 1.25 assist:turnover ratio

Melo is a better offensive rebounder, and turns it over less?

As a whole, KD is putting out 0.288 win shares per 48 minutes, making Carmelos 0.176 look very pale in comparison….

After i typed this, i read your username, and realised i just wasted 10 minutes of my life *facepalm*

OK lol you made me a believer some what but there’s a plauseble argument for every stat line you mention kd being “better” at. You can argue kd is a more efficent scorer because he has more weapons on his team so it leads to him being not always having to attempt 20 or 30 shots. The defensive share state is pretty concrete I guess but if we are just using the eye test they’re both pretty avg.

Melo is terrible. He has always been terrible. He was terrible at Syracuse. And he’s terrible with the Celtics. Terrible player.

Yeah, I guess winning a national title in college is pretty terrible… :/

Can’t believe he’s played this terrible with the Celtics. Really thought playing alongside Jerry West and Joe Dumars would help him.

        So….

I’m guessing no one realized I was talking about Fab Melo, then. Okay.

LeBron and Melo: From here to Pluto
LeBron and KD: From here to Neptune

      And that’s pretty much non-debatable.

If I could give a sporting comparision then I’d say Usain Bolt to any other sprinter for Lebron and the next best players. They are all elite but one guy is just that much better.
