I know there are a lot of people that are afraid Doug could be the second coming of Adam Morrison.  I used to be one of those guys.  However, I watched one of his predraft workouts on youtube and he actually looks like a decent athlete, light years better than Morrison at least.  Also, his standing vertical is 3 inches better than Morrison’s was and his max vertical is 6 inches more; all of this while also weighing 20 pounds more than Adam did back in ’06.  Admittedly, guys can look athletic in workouts and not show any of it during games, but still.  I know it may seem stupid for me to change my view of him based on a workout video, but it wasn’t just that.  When I heard he recorded a 36.5 vert, I, like others, was skeptical about whether it was legit or not.  In the video he actually looks like he has those type of ups.  They aren’t elite by any means but I think they’re on a par with a number of successful NBA forwards.

being more athletic than Morrison is nothing to be happy about.

he’s still going to be a below average NBA athlete. Since he measured out shorter than expected ( i believe 6’7) its become clear he’s going to become a full time SF, which will hinder him even more since we all know the caliber of athletes on the wing.

Good thing he is more skilled than 99% of the NBA, and still getting better.

Morrison wasnt a bad athlete. He was a solid player before he blew out his knee, people go way overboard on what type of bust he was. Yes he was a bust, but not due to his play, due to injury. If he hadnt got injured he would still be getting cheques and more then likely giving a team good minutes.

Dougie Fresh is a better offensive player than Kyle Korver.

He absolutely is.  He sort of faces stereotyping because he’s white.  He’s white – so he isn’t athletic, can’t jump but can shoot.  Doug is going to be very good, white, black or green.  Chris Mullin wasn’t the greatest athlete ever – just a great player – Doug can be pretty good as well – great shooter, quick release, can create space.  He’ll get by on D just like 1/2 the guys in the league do
