rickybobbyParticipantAnnounced his intentions to return at UNC basketball Banquet tonight. Another good decision. 2 out of 3 isn’t bad for the Tarheels.

Krypt GussParticipantMcAdoo is definitely not ready for the NBA imo…

mbunner23ParticipantGood decision even though this draft is weaker than next years. I’m a Carolina fan but I know that had McAdoo went to the NBA he would have had a tough time adapting. Needs to improve on some things.

BasketballJunkie224Participantyea nothing about mcadoo says nba to me. i think a lot of hype came from his uncle. hes very good but i dont think time is the factor anymore so staying another year is 1 thing but i mean i dont think he has too much potential to get better IMO so his stock is slipping IMO

JoeJoParticipantThis isn’t surprising. My guess is that he might be at best a late first round pick this year and that’s if a team still has faith based on his high school scouting report and his athleticism. He should be a late second round pick or go undrafted based how he’s played in college. There is literally nothing he does at an average level besides maybe rebounding, maybe. His outside shooting, finishing ability, defense and passing are all below average.
For players of his draft stock, the strength of next year’s draft is irrelevant. Next year should be a lot stronger at the top but the bottom of the first round should be about the same. The risk for McAdoo is that he plays at the same level and assures himself of being a second round pick at best but the upside is that he improves and goes much higher.

qDizzle32ParticipantI think he made the right decision. I know the money is very tempting but he would just be sitting on the bench in the NBA. I have been a fan of his since he played on the Team USA U16 team back in 2009. To be honest, his inside game is just way too soft for the NBA and his made range and outside shots are below average. I’d love to see him succeed in the NBA but I just don’t see it happening. If he can work on his outside game and learn how to play more aggressive, maybe he could raise his draft stock for next year or the year after.

Chilbert arenasParticipantThe iron is far from hot but he should have struck now. Next year is looking to be a much better and deeper draft. He could have at least gotten a guaranteed contract this year and who knows, maybe his game is better suited for the NBA. Doubtful though.

surveParticipantRoy not being a good teacher or developer put McAdoo in between a rock and a hard place. Merely coming back doesnt mean he will improve vastly. In the off-season he needs to work with Olajuwon on his foot work and he needs to work on his jumpshot. If he does that, he can move back in lottery position. Look at Henson from his soph year to his junior year…and look at what he is doing in the league.

A Lil EnglishParticipantI don’t think the hype came from his uncle at all, when I was watching him and MKG both play at the Mcdonalds game (where they were co-MVP’s) I was convinced they both looked to be the best 2 SF prospects.
I think he’s just really caught in between positions and not an adequate ball handler or shooter. I still love his athleticism and think he can develop into an NBA player one way or another.

mamadouParticipantGood decision, i think he’s even a 4 years guy, too many holes(skills, touch, physical, mental) but then he will be fine(at least i hope because i was very high on him at first), a team will be happy to select him in the 20’s in 2015…
Senior, better man, better and stronger player, lesser tweener, better environment(role player in a winning team) is more suited for him than bust in a losing team being not nba ready, you have to maximize your chances to find a niche and that’s what he’s doing.0 - AuthorPosts
