mavsatxParticipantIt’s being reported that the mavs and Lin have mutual interest in each other. Seems like a decent fit but are there any other fas that could be good fits for the mavs and are on the market ? Jennings? Aaron brooks? Mo Williams?Try to trade for Ty Lawson? Who should be their top target at pg?

TripleDoubleScoutParticipantJennings would be great for them but probably not realistic. Mo Williams doesn’t seem like a good fit to me even though he’s a solid piece. Lin seems to be what the smart money is on.

JordoParticipantIf they’re looking to him for depth sure why not but not as a full time starter.Lin can be productive in a limited role though. Out of the guys you named Lawson and Jennings(who isn’t a FA btw) make the most sense because Deandre Jordan and the Mavericks as a whole would benefit a lot more from a playmaker at PG but Dallas doesn’t have the assets to get either one. PG market is pretty thin they might end up settling.

he_gets_bucketsParticipantWhat do you mean "settling"? You think if the Mavs could of swung a deal for Ty Lawson or Brandon Jennings they wouldn’t of by now? They don’t have any trade assets outside of Justin Anderson who isn’t worth All-star calibre point guards. Jeremy Lin is a serviceable starter when put around other quality guys, and was the best on the marlet. It isnt a matter of "settling", they got the best guy available to them

JordoParticipantMy bad. You misinterpreted what i meant. I meant that since i don’t see them putting the pieces together to nab lawson or Jennings they would have to settle for whoever is left on the FA market. Lin is very serviceable like you and i both said. I do agree if they get him he can be solid with those guys that they have but i was only saying if they wanted a new starting PG i didn’t think Lin was the answer.

BiggysmallsParticipantMy first thought would be Jennings as well. Don’t know if Dallas has the assets to get him but I think he would be a gret option. I could see him taking off under Carlisle.

thetrademachineryParticipantAustin Rivers can be someone fantastic or disasterous.
Mavs have many players leaving Like Amare, Rondo, Chandler. They can basically use them for sign and trades, including some picks.
