Anton123ParticipantIf this happens it would be huge. Some consider Bagley a bigger talent than both Porter Jr. and Ayton. Marvin is considering Duke, Arizona, USC, and Kentucky. All four teams are already very talented and could become frontrunners for the college title if they land Bagley.
Do you think he will reclassify? If yes, where does he go? How would you rank the top 5 in the 2018 draft?
I’d go something like:
1. Bagley
2. Porter Jr.
3. Doncic
4. Ayton
5. Bamba
But that’s not a qualified opinion, lol. Only player I’ve actually watched play multiple games is Doncic. If Bagley does reclassify, with Bridges, Diallo, and R. Williams returning, this could be a truly scary draft, one of the best in a long time.

Bankroll PJParticipantUSC is rumored to be the favorite if he reclassifies and that would be huge for USC and the PAC-12 as a whole. Bol Bol is also heavily considering USC now too.

Anton123ParticipantUSC would be super talented with Bagley, imagine him with Chizmeze Metu, Elijah Stewart, Derryck Thornton, Bennie Boatwright, Jordan McLaughlin… Probably the best USC team ever.

SubZeroParticipantI was really hoping to get him at Kentucky next year but it’d be cool seeing if he can pick up USC and take them to the tourney. It’d be a welcome change for a #1 player to do, unlike what Simmons and Fultz had to deal with

whiteflashParticipantOnly seen Bagley a few times, but his game reminds me of a perfect combo of Lamar Odom and Shareef Abdur-Rahim.

Taylor Gang MikeParticipantI don’t think he will unless it’s duke or USC.. the other schools are loaded he is looking at

HitsterParticipantI haven’t seen a lot of this guy but he does look to have a hugely promising skillset. A year out from the next draft IMO at the moment there seems to be a gap between the top 4 – Porter, Bamba, Doncic, Ayrton and the rest. Bagley would make this a top 5 immediately and any team looking at Porter would be sure to consider him too.

SmooveKRYPTParticipantAdding him & Chuck O’Bannon to an already super talented and athletic USC team would be overkill. I hope he does, I’ve been watching him at the Drew League the past couple weeks – him and Metu are always hanging out before and after games – and he’s definitely ready. Even in a guard dominant setting like that, he’s a huge standout.
That Odom comparison above is spot on. He plays at his own pace, but still no one can seem to stay in front of him + he’s huge but handles it like a guard.

HeroescantdieParticipantWow, this draft would be exciting but I’ll wait if these recruits can produce in college.

akhan786ParticipantWhich team do you guys think he fits on best for those likely picking in the top 5 next year? Or is he a type of guy you select regardless of fit?
The Celtics would be fun if they nabbed him, but I’d like to spread out some of the young elite talent in the league. How crazy would it be if the Bulls got the #1 overall again? They would go from Rose -> Butler -> Bagley

wonzi_bellsParticipantAll I know is Boston fans should be so happy right now… The more bigs in the draft, the better for yall

joe2324ParticipantImagine boston manages to get Bagley and Porter next year
0- Posted on: Sat, 07/15/2017 - 3:23am #1103988
Anton123ParticipantThey won’t, the Lakers are a year older and added Lopez, Caldwell-Pope, and Ball. They will not be a bottom 5 team. People were actually arguing if they can make the playoffs this year; they can’t, but there will be 5 teams worse than them. They also have zero reason to tank since they don’t have a pick.

EndlessknightParticipantThey have also subtracted Russell, Lou Williams and Nick Young. Plus they are playing in the loaded west. Personally, as a Sixers can, I hope you’re right. I hate the thought of gifting Boston the 2nd or 3rd pick.

markfitz14ParticipantShows some serious determination that he was able to finish all his classes early. Must be a hard working kid. It looks like he is definetely ready physically for the college game from his videos.
I hope he gets in. I am impatient and I don’t want to wait to see him.

HitsterParticipantIt would be funny if Boston ended up with the two picks and took both Bagley and Porter, fitting them in alongside Horford, Hayward, Tatum and Brown would be fun to see but it could be easily done.
I wonder if the likelihood of Boston picking high again could sway someone to reclassify. Even if he did then he doesn’t have to declare, you could say two years in NCAA is better than a final year in HS then a year at college but I don’t see a guy of his ability hanging around too long in college.

markfitz14ParticipantSure I would jump for joy if both picks land top 5. But that is a very low percentage of that happening. I am really trying not to get my hopes up to high just incase. Seeing some nice bigs in the draft ecspecially if Bagley is in there has me really excited.

beerandhiphopParticipantThe Lakers will not be within 10 games of a playoff spot in the West lol… Bagley so skilled like Odom was. I’ve seen someone try to say he was Perry Jackson redux awhile back lol.. His floor is honestly Antoine Walker or Odom.. Ceiling could be transcendent

mowestenParticipantI actually like the Odom comparison. I saw Odom play at the same age and have seen a lot of Bagley … I think there are some differences however At the same age, Odom was a better outside shooter, Bagley’s 3-point game right now has a ways to go.
Odom was a really good passer and playmaker, Bagley is a good passer, but not quite at that level,
Odom became a really good NBA defender. Again Baileys not bad in this area, but who knows if he reaches Odom level.
On the other hand, both are/were terrific rebounders and ball handlers making them really unique players for their size. Not to get weird here, but Odom had really broad shoulders and was able to add good muscle and weight with age. Bagley will need to get stronger in the future IMO.
With all that said, Bagley could easily end up being a much better player than Odom was … he really does get buckets in a lot of different ways and if he tightens up his jumper look out. Also have take into account that while Odom was really good, I don’t think he was ever ad good a he could have been because of all the stuff going on in his personal life.

shaq2355ParticipantI have seen him play a couple times and I keep seeing a more athletic Chris Bosh. I dont feel like he has the handle/passing game that Lamar Odom had but I could see the comparison.

HitsterParticipantOdom was used for Ben Simmons quite a bit when Ben was in his college year, I don’t know whether Bagley would have the passing quality that Simmons might have. But I do like the Odom comparison.
