lakeshow22ParticipantWhat are you guys thoughts on Marshon Brooks rookie season and what is his potenital and ceiling can be? I thought he could be a top 5 shooting guard and one of the better scoeres in the league, but now with Joe Johnson and Gerald Wallace signed for the next 4 years im not sure what his role will be.

CodySLCParticipantHe still will play a good amount of minutes off the bench. He’s going to be a good player, but i don’t think he’s a starting sg on a contender as of now.

TheArtistPaysthePriceParticipantJoeJ cant be traded for many reasons and DWill cant be because he is that good, and their is really no bonafide role for him. He will be a trade chip somehow, even though it seemed no team wanted him in the rumored D12 talks. Cleveland wanted no part and only the Clippers that would have supplied a late first round pick for him. Charlotte didnt want him either. IDK he seemed pretty good to me last year from the eyeball test. Maybe his advanced stats were terrible. I thought coming out he was a self proclaimed mid range Kobe wannabe chucker (he had that Kobe fro, I mean come on son). But during last season I saw him handle the ball with confidence and drive to the hole when he had too. He has long arms and legit 2 guard size, I think he will be okay but spend his career starting on bad teams or coming off the bench on good teams. I think right now he is as good as Alec Burks but less of a prospect and no where near Klay Thompson.

WinterSoldierParticipantAlec Burks played a lot less minutes on a better team than Klay Thompson I really don’t get this mentality that he is considerably better at least wait a few years before making sweeping statements like this.

TRC1991ParticipantBrooks will get plenty of minutes… Johnson and Wallace can slide over a position if they want to run a small lineup so Brooks can see time at the 2

river09ParticipantI really like his game, wherever he ends up if he gets playing time he will produce. He is so smooth with the ball and can score from anywhere on the floor. I’m really surprised they brought in Joe Johnson, I feel like given one or two years he could blossom as a scorer..

geothermalParticipanti feel him like a ben gordon type, spreads the floor and demands attention from the defense, and at best a sixth man who brings scoring in the table,

ENOGSIWONdedeHe will play plenty they do not have that much off the bench and a lot of versatility position wise, he is a tough cover could develop into one of the best post up guards ever

The Game_GMParticipantWell I think Marshon has a serious offensive game. Call me crazy but he has Kobe like footwork and abilty to create shots. I mean i have watched this guy and his ability to score is special. I think with NJ he can be helpful off the bench once Wallace takes break and they slide Joe to the 3. Honestly though, If im some other team, I try to get him. I think the issue might be that teams fear that he is a "go for mine" type guy..Very similar to what Kobe was when he came in the league. Kobe had to fight his way to where he is. I mean with his style and mindset he had to piss people off to finally be the Kobe we know today. I think for Marshon to be the type of player that he wants to be , some team has to be willing to give him some rope..Im not sure if anybody will. Kobe took his rope…he didn’t wait for it to be given to him..lol

TallmanNYCParticipantI hope he improves. He certainly looks like a scorer. But he also shot a little less than 43% last year. That’s a problem percentage. That is a percentage at which you are losing the game when you shoot the ball.
But rookies do that. They tend to shoot badly their first year. He might make a big improvement. He won’t get too many minutes behind JJ. But if he improves there will still be plenty for him to develope.
