ChicagoCaseyParticipantIt looks like these three have won the physical measutments part of the combine w/ Chriss measuring at 6’10" w/s 6’8.75" w/o 233 IBS and a 7’0.25" WS. Ellenson measuring in at 6’11.5" w/s 6’10" w/o 242 IBS and a 7’2.25" WS. And Davis measuring in at 6’10.5" w/s 6’9.25" w/o 237 IBS and a 7’2.5" WS.
I never knew Ellenson was that tall and Chriss was that tall. I could see Chriss going higher given his measurments.

ChicagoCaseyParticipantWade Baldwin measuring in a 6’4" in shoes and a MONSTER 6’11.25" wingspan

GBeeParticipantI wouldn’t call Chriss a winner especially since he measured out poorly in the most important measurement for a big which is standing reach. 8’9 is below average for a PF.

Magic JordanParticipantThe real winner is Zhou Qi.
Poeltl with only an 8’9.5" standing reach? How is that even possible for someone as tall as him. That is terrible.

GBeeParticipantCould be low set (but wide) or sloping shoulders,
Poeltl never looked like he had great length. His defensive potential comes from his agility, energy, intelligence and potential to defend in space, not his potential as a rim protector. A little disappointing, but I don’t think this impacts his stock much at all.
Skal had an equally terrible standing reach, but that was more predictable if you just look at his body structure. He has those aforementioned sloped shoulders…narrow too.

giddyup123ParticipantNo big suprises aside from Ellenson’s size to me.
Also… don’t like think he is good enough to get significant minutes in the NBA next year (though the potential is there), but got to imagine Malachi Richardson is another big winner. Legit SG size at 6’6 with a 7 foot wingspan with big hands.
Buddy Hield also measured better than I expected.. 6’5 w/ a 6’9+ wingspan should cement a top 7 selection.

Arc12345ParticipantThat’s a pretty massive wingspan (7’3) for a guy who’s not even 6’7 (6’6.75) barefoot. He’s really skilled, I think he should get drafted.

XavierAllTheWayParticipantBaldwin…doesn’t not matter if measurements are great when he sucked the whole year
0- Posted on: Thu, 05/12/2016 - 9:11am #1061474
mamadouParticipantYeah he sucked all year at 14+ 5+ 4 + playing 30 mins as a very young sophomore and learning the PG spot.
6 FTA per game, 42% 3 pts shooter in his college career and great measurements.
It doesn’t matter.
Surprised by Chriss, i thought he was a 6’8.5 in shoes with a 6’11 wingspan.
6’10 with his guard skills, shooting abilities, athleticism cement him as PF, shorter he could have been viewed as a pure tweener.
Brice Johnson, i thought he was 6’9 in shoes, good for him.
My men Layman is tall, but no surprise with his japanese wingspan.
Thon Maker with KG measurements i guess.

MopgrassParticipantMaker had the 2nd best standing reach in the whole combine… though that may be commentary on how the NBA is getting away from super size and toward agility. He’s a winner at the combine because it puts to bed the weird rumor about him having small hands. Among the centers at the combine, his hand size pretty dead average. who makes that kind of stuff up to begin with?

XavierAllTheWayParticipantLol 14-5-5 stat line for ballon is supposed to be impressive? How many players average that and more???? Plenty! I watch him atleast 5 times and whenever his teams really need a basket, he does nothing to create opportunities for his teammates or himself. Instead he just dribbles on the perimeter and then laugh 3 point shots. Yes, his measureables are great, but better improve his handle and shooting if he wants to do something. Early second round is where he belongs

mamadouParticipantHe wasn’t a PG a year ago, so yeah 5+ assists in 30 mins is a pretty solid start for a young sophomore…as are his 6 FTA, his shooting stroke, his length, his defensive potential, his versatility as a lead guard or off guard and his dabs during a fight….
His shooting is more than fine, effortless, he needs to improve his decision making and ball handling, just like every other 20YO guard…
He’s 4th in assists in nba prospects, he’s the youngest of the 4, played the least of the 4, best shooter of the 4, so many knock on him,
Man, George Hill is a starting PG in this league, he’s 30.
Beverley, Chalmers, remember me the name of the bucks PG ?, jazz PG ?, who’s the PG for the lakers ? Knicks ?, Nets ?
Who’s the back up of the great and reliable derrick rose ?, reggie jackson ?.
