So Mark Jackson has said something at least the past 2 games that I think is just ridiculous honestly. He claims that Klay is the best two way player in basketball because he’s the only guy that can guard the best player on the opposing teams and score 20 consistently, and he used the example of how no one else that can score 20 can guard Russell Westbrook.

I’m sorry, but has he forgotten about Kawhi Leonard and Lebron? Kawhi didn’t guard Russell because he was too busy guarding Durant most the series, and Lebron can guard anyone he wants. I don’t know if he’s just biased because he coached him, but I just don’t see how Klay is a better two way player than at least either of these 2.

I mean is it really that far fetched?? the title is two way player so your accounting both offense and defense, and Klay is far more lethal offensively than Leonard, and his defense is not that far behind to say it isn’t true. Now Lebron is another thing, but in all reality to have your own opinion where the player is at worse third is not that bad of a statement. I could see if he was referring to the consensus tenth overall two way player then that’s a problem. I call it good commentating within the flow of the game.

I get what you mean, but it’s pretty crazy to just forget or discredit the guy who was just runner up MVP and DPOY, a legend, and 2 other stars in their own right like Paul and Jimmy

I didn’t hear it today but the other day he said ‘other than Lebron’

And it’s not that farfetched.  To me it’s a toss up between him and Kawhi for 2nd best after Lebron.  I’ve got no issue with someone saying Klay is better than Kawhi.  It’s personal preference but Klay is damn good.

Klay Thompson is a modern day Reggie Miller, minus the trash talk.

Hes a top 10,  2-Way player but he doesnt beat guys like Leonard, George, Butler, Draymond, Davis, James, Durant etc

Reggie wasnt d’ing up opposing PGs. Thats what makes Klay special. Once he starts racking up the all defense teams it will be proven on paper as well as by the eye test.

When did Reggie Miller ever guard anyone? Miller was an elite shooter and that’s it. Everything else about his game was weak, handle, defense, post up … etc. But that said he was an increadle shooter that could hit clutch shots.

I do believe he qualified it by saying that Klay guards the other team’s best player the whole game. Whereas guys like Leonard and LeBron in particular, only do it for spurts  (namely 4th quarter). Not saying i agree or disagree, just throwing out the other info.

Klay never guards the opposing team’s best player for the whole game.
One could make a very convincing arguement that he isn’t the best offensive (Curry) nor the best definsive (Igoudala) player on his team.
I mean Iggy did get the MVP, which still blows my mind, for the defensive work he did on LBJ last finals, you know when LBJ probably had the best finals for a single player in the history of the game.

Klay is a great wing shooter and a great perimiter defender, but in my opinion LBJ is by far and away the best two-way player in the league.  After that Kawhi, Klay, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, and even Russel Westbrook can make cases for the aforementioned title.

Personally I think this "two-way" player talk needs to stop.  We know LBJ is still the best player, and we know that GSW is the best team.  Let’s just appreciate the show, and the fact that the league has done everything in it’s power to insure this series goes 7 games, thanks Kiki!!!!

way players go……… but Who is – these are historically Great 2 – way players…….. but I would say that Klay Thompson is Right below them…….. At 6’7” w/ long arms & great feet, Klay is starting to get more attention & truthfully he deserves it……….

That game 6 IN the Western Conference Finals on the Road was one of the All Time best Clutch Performances in NBA History………..

It’s hard to believe that just 21 Months ago the Warriors tried to trade Klay Thomspson to Minnesota for Kevin Love & the T-Wolves TURNED them Down…….

Crazy………………. But Marc Jackson is HARD to listen to……… If I hear "Mama there goes that man…." one more time I’m going to have a Seizure………. but Klay Thompson is an Absolute Beast……..

Kwahi is a lot closer to Klay, and PG then Lebron.  C’mon man.

Kwahi doesn’t have elite handles and is a mediocre rim attacker at best.  The man is a great defender, and on the ball he is exceptional.  But he can’t bang with the elite 4’s and 5’s the way Bron can and he isn’t a complete offensive player yet.  The man has made great strides with his shot and become a scorer, but he’s playing in the perfect system and situation.  Say him and Paul George had switched spots to start they’re career, I’d bet the farm that Paul Geroge would be a perennial NBA MVP Candidate and Kawhi would be a borderline all-star.  Situation matters.

You could say the same thing about Klay (and Draymond, but that’s beside the point). Pretty sure he benefits a good bit from all those illegal screens and playing with the best shooter ever

All I’m getting at is, for my money, its PG>Kawhi and I don’t see it as all that close.
