For_Never_EverParticipantI know he is a fiery player and suppose leader coming out of college. However, I’m not sure what to think he has now two incidents as a ‘Rookie’ with the elbow and now low blow.

mgreener_34ParticipantBruce Bowen, Dennis Rodman, Kobe Bryant, Dikembe Mutombo, Bill Laimbeer, Chris Paul, and Ron Artest…what do all these guys have in common? 1.) All of them are considered dirty players, and 2.) All of them are considered some of the best defenders of their respective generations.
To be a great defender you have to get your hands dirty and get into the heads of opposing players. You’re seeing the same with Steven Adams in OKC. Players hate the guy because of his constant badgering, and it gets under their skin and throws them off their game.
The two plays pointed out aren’t the most extreme I’ve seen. The second one wasn’t too bad as we see stuff like that every game, the only difference being it went higher than Payton’s chest, but the one with Bonner was blatantly a frustration foul. I don’t think Smart is a dirty player, but he has been known in the past to lose his temper, and I think this was one of those moments. Hopefully he learns from this, and I was happy to see Brad Stevens throw him under the bus for his poor decision

Magic JordanParticipantI would throw Dwayne Wade on that list too, to me he is the dirtiest player since Bruce Bowen and it’s not even close.

Adams took a blow to the face from Z-Bo and ate it like a Scooby snack. Mental toughness of a true warrior. I’d bet my bottom dollar, he could pass the test for the role in Hitman.

For_Never_EverParticipantI know some fans or apologists will some how justify that this is part of being a great defender. Brad Steven got more credit from me for not defending his player, and sending the message those action won’t be accepted
Hitting someone in the jewels is crossing the line and uncalled for. If Kobe did this he would be called out on it. Matt Bonner comes off to me as a extremely nice guy level headed, and this is the first time everyone has ever seen him get this angry. I don’t have to learn not to hit someone in the groin, and if he did that to perhaps a different player things would have gone differently.

For_Never_EverParticipantMichael Jordan, Kawhi leonard, Joakim Noah, Tony Allen, Avery Bradly, Paul George, Hakeem Olajuwon, Tim Ducan.
Just a quick list of defenders they could or will likely have a hic up on ocassion, but for the most part.

jalliParticipantAlong with the boneheaded actions I just don’t believe he’s that good despite this being his rookie year. He’s got a very low ceiling. The most glaring weakness is his lack of footspeed to play or defend NBA level PG’s effectively.

omphalosParticipantHaha, nice one Ainge, draft "high character" guys with low upside that can’t even stay out of trouble.
