I was really hoping the warrriors would have made that move for Kevin Love in the summer and was willing to part ways with Thompson.  I guess I didn’t watch enough games to understand how great he really is. I knew he was a great shooter, but never knew how good his defense was until I really watched a bunch of Warrior games this year. Very impressed. Obviously, the warriors knew they had someone special. Scary thing is he is only 24!

Even assuming that Love is a better player than Klay (not saying he is, just for arguments sake) you don’t mess with chemistry like the dubs have. They knew they were building something special and would’ve acquired Love but the price of Klay and his developing chemistry with Curry was just too much. I was personally glad that GS kept Klay. I think sometimes teams are too knee jerk in their approach to big name trades and all respect to the Warriors, they made the smart business and basketball move.

The Warriors will have to go WAY over the cap this offseason to re-sign Draymond Green. If they do then I think no question they made the correct basketball decision. If they end up losing Green then it’s not such an easy pick. I mean Harrison Barnes would probably step up his production w/o Thompson. Don’t forget Kevin Martin would have come back in return. I think they made the right decision though.

As a twolves fan I am glad they didn’t make the trade either. Thompson is a great player and is hitting his prime, but I think had he gone there we would have been at best a 7th or 8th seed, maybe better if we got draymond green, but both of those guys would be playing outside of their roles. The twolves have pek an no other scoring on the team and he misses 30 games a year. I think it would have messed up the warriors since both of those guys are loved there and have grown into the players they are. The kevin love stuff worked out well for the bulls(they got pau and mirotic), warriors, twolves and is still being worked out with the cavs. It is kind of surprising how well it worked out well for all the teams involved in the trade discussions for him

When he was drafted, I thought he wasn’t athletic enough. I, too, was wrong.
