festar35ParticipantWhat teams and what moves do you see taking place by the trade deadline? I really hope the Pacers do something but it not seeming likely.

jhbm24ParticipantI see monte gettin moved. He mustbe disgrutntled from all this talk. I just hope its not for Al Jefferson. And its time for dwight to be traded, and as muchas I’d hate to say it, he’s goingto thelakers.

fliptonnParticipanti always get negatives when i say this but i could see some kind of lopez for granger trade. brook is young and he would work well with hibbert. and the nets are looking for a three that can score hoping that they can contend with dwight hopefully coming next year. very risky for both sides though

HitsterParticipantIf the Pacers took Lopez then they have to do something with David West so I could not really see that trade working.
A lot could depend on what the Nets try to do around deadline day as star players may either come in or possibly go out. They could even wait until the summer and see who they draft and try to get Dwight as an FA, they could feasibly get a top 5 pick, sign Dwight as an FA and resign both Lopez and Williams.
Realistically unless anything major hapens regarding Dwight or Deron then I don’t see it being a huge deadline day as teams will wait until the summer or go with what they have got. Boston for example have hit form since the All Star reak so any major moves will be on hold and maybe the Nets apart, I just don’t see ny lottery teams suddenly trading away a possible shot at Davis or Drummond.
My wildcard could be a proactive GM lets say Daryl Morey who has a number or assets and expiring deals decides to make a move a freshen up his roster.

JoeWolf1Boston is doing something, I have no idea what, but I’m sure of it. If Ainge is willing to trade away Perkins for more youth when his team is a contender, I don’t think he’s gonna want to go down with his aging big 3. At least one of Boston’s 4 major players is going to be in a new uniform.

orangeshadow83ParticipantI know ive said in the past that the pacers should trade Granger but now I think they should keep him. Both Granger and George can play 3 different positions and frankly the pacers need Granger more than they would need Lopez. He is their main option and if they surround him with the right supporting cast (which is what they are doing) they can be a contending team in the east for years to come. If they can re-sign Hibbert plus George Granger & West being the core and Hill and Hansborough providing quality minutes off the bench they are a young team with a bright future. If George can become an allstar, which i believe he can, this team may not have a true superstar but they are a good PG away from being a top team in the east annually.
As for possible trades I would like to see the Rockets put together a package of some of their young talents and picks to the Lakers for Gasol. The Lakers arn’y winning the championship anytime soon and they are not getting younger. If the lakers can get Scola, Flynn, and a first (maybe thabeet or hill as well) I would like to see this trade done. Flynn would be an upgrade to fisher/blake at the point and I would like to see him get another chance because i think he can still be a decent pg. This also lets the Lakers get a little younger and add a little depth. Scola needs a change of scenery and I think he would fit well iwth Bynum. And Gasol would make the rockets a scary team with Lowry and Martin as well.

Moon RiverParticipantChicago needs to upgrade at the shooting guard, especially with Rip not being able to remain on the court. Could they not give up their core (Rose, Deng, Noah) and get a guy like Jamal Crawford? I think they should, but I doubt that they will. They don’t have enough to beat the Heatles right now, but for some reason the Bulls brass do not believe that.
I also see Milwaukee making a move and parting with Stephen Jackson. In the right situation, I could see him being a nice get by a contending team down the stretch.

orangeshadow83ParticipantI think Boston might try to trade Allen as they are not trading Pierce(boston fans would be outraged), no one would want KG with his contract, and it would be difficult to get equal return for Rondo. I don’t know what they would get for Allen but plent of teams that are in contention need a capable SG and who better than Ray Allen

fliptonnParticipantwhy not both? the nets trade lopez, their top 5 pick, and the expiring contracts of humphries and okur for granger and west. i think its a win win for both teams. pacers get younger and arguably more talented if they add a guy like barnes or lamb and the nets become contenders in brooklyn.

F_DA_POParticipantThe Magic won’t trade Howard even though they should. They should trade him for Bynum because it’s the best deal on the table. I predict Howard and Ellis aren’t going anywhere though. Magic ownership is too afraid of how the fans will react.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Celtics and Lakers are looking to do something. I’m not sure what it is, but they’re looking everywhere for trades.

jmarg25ParticipantI don’t think the Magic will trade Dwight Howard, unless they get plenty of picks and young talent. Otherwise, they are still trying to win a championship. They need a stronger better bench, and another post presence other than Howard. Jameer Nelson and Hedo Turkoglu just keep slowly declining as they age. If they want to win a championship, they must make a big splash before the deadline.

Bmore_DCParticipantwhy would the pacers trade their best offensive player for another center? that makes no sense, i like Brook Lopez but he and Hibbert would not work well together AT ALL…and then what would they do with David West? smh…
i think the Bucks need to do something…they have a lot of bad contracts and guys under-performing…im sure they could get something for S-Jax or Gooden…even if they had to throw Illyasova in there…they need to shake things up because this roster is over-paid and under-acheiving…and they need to keep Jennings…
I hope the Wiz can trade Blatche but i doubt they can…
The Magic need to either trade Howard…or pull off some miracle trade to bring a star there…most likely the first option

DanEboyParticipantUnless the Magic get what they want, they will let him walk. They aren’t going to take on contracts of players they don’t really want just to get something in return.

HitsterParticipantOn NBA.com when they were discussing Dwight Howard’s future, it was suggested that the Magic sit Dwight down and say "What do we need to do to keep you and try to do it and basically tell him that we cannot afford to let you walk so if you will not resign we have to trade you.
It was also correctly pointed out that both Cleveland and Orlando whilst they had made numerous trades had never really given either LeBron or Dwight a top level running mate e.g when the Lakers got Pau Gasol to compliment Kobe.
Shaq also pointed out that with the new Arena in Orlando that he saw at the AS game and the set up there, that there might be some reason behind the scenes that makes Dwight unhappy in Orlando.
I’d guess that Dwight would maybe want D-Will on board to stay in Orlando but Orlando would surely need to do an S and T to try and get Deron in the summer.

aamir543ParticipantIt’s no secret that without Dwight in New Jersey, D-Will is out, no question. Brook Lopez was just starting to play well, and he hit a setback. It’s no secret he can score, but his rebounding is really bad. I mean, he had 28 points in 35 minutes, but just three boards. three boards in 35 minutes, and he’s 7’0 tall. So it seems like those possibilities are out the window. Unless Otis Smith decides to change his mind at the last minute, the Nets should trade D-Will. You don’t give up the 3rd pick in two consecutive drafts for a year and a quarter of Deron Williams. I don’t care what it is, you NEED to get somthing in return as opposed to just letting him walk for nothing.

FearTheStacheParticipantExpect something huge from the Celts. After Rondo’s big game, they can get something huge in return (*cough* Tyreke Evans, JJ Hickson and unprotected 1st rounder *cough*). Also, they will be getting Beasley as well, for JO and the Clipper pick
