So I like the pieces the magic have but like some others Im not sold on how they fit moving forward. One concern I have that others have noted is Vuc not having the athletic ability to keep up with the pace and lack of intimidating defense near the rim. I havent done much research on this trade but threw it in the trade checker.Vucevic and Nicholson to the Suns for Chandler and Alex Len. Im not sure if this would make sense for the suns or not or how high they are on Len. Buth the suns would be getting a proven scorer and rebounder in Vuc who has a few more years left than Chandler and Nicholson who still shows flashes that he can be effective in the NBA. The magic would get an enforcer and a much needed veteran presence in the middle and another project in Len to go along with the young core. I know offensively its going to clog the middle, but skiles as a defensive minded coach could turn this group into and elite defensive group and hope that our perimeter game evolves with fournier hezonja and harris, and hopefully oladipo.

Sure vucevic and nicholson aren’t as athletic as some of the Magic’s other young guys, but they are both so underrated offensively and scott skiles has done a nice job to improve them both defensively. Yeah, Len and Chandler might be better defensively, but chandler is getting pretty old now and as far as I’ve seen Len hasn’t been balling all that well..
Also, Nicholson has proven himself so far to start the season to be a solid bench scorer with a variety of solid post moves and a fairly consistent 3pt shot.
If I were the Suns I would take this in a heartbeat, trading a near-washed-up Chandler and a bust (so far…) in Len for one of the best young centres in the league as well as a young PF that can score well off the bench. However, I think both nicholson and vucevic are too crucial to the magics offense for them to give them away for players that they don’t really need right now..

Vucevic is the center of the future, with his ability to step out and knock down jumpers. As for Nicholson; his career never took off as some people thought it would. Maybe a change of scenery would serve him well?

Trading both of them for Len and Chandler makes no sense at all imo. Both are nice players, but Vucevic fits their team a lot better than those two, and he signed a nice long-term contract as well. The Magic should just continue the way they are going, develop their talent and they will be fine. Maybe add some shooters along the way would be nice, but other than that they are fine.

Ya this is very hypothetical… Ive just been hearing alot of people saying how he doesnt fit and he had a short leash with scott skiles for a couple games, and this was purely based on the hype surrounding Lens potential a few years back, i havent really watched him play much. And chandler would be a short term lease term fix while Len grows. I know short term we would take a step back. I am not a Vuc hater by any means he helped us win that dwight howard trade.

Magic are playing better than they have in years, chill with the trade proposals.

Noel would be Perfect in the middle of Orlando’s well stocked team of race horses….. you guys would not need him to be a traditional back to the basket center (which he is not anyway)…… He’ll be a monster guarding that rim….. & he’s fantastic in transition….. he would score 12 – 15 ppg on that Orlando team…. but more imortantly….. He’ll give you guys world class interior defense….. He’ll pull down 10+ rebounds per game….. he’s a great passer for a Big man….. He’ll block 2.5 shots per game & alter 20 others… & he always gets a ton of steals, which will help launch the fast break….. Noel was TOP 10 last year in blocks & steals for the Whole league as a Rookie…..

He would be Perfect in Orlando…..

He would clog the lane up even more on offense. Magic’s biggest talents (Oladipo, Payton, Gordon) lack a consistent outside shot, which makes Vucevic all the more valuable.

I know we are playing great right now but if the front office isnt completely sold that a guy is part of their future then why not sell high.. I love Vuc and im not pushing for a trade and we could probably get a better package for him, but when you are in rebuilding mode and have a stockpile of talent then why not sell high on a player if you think the return has more potential? I just dont see vuc getting a whole lot better and as good as he is i think we could get a future stud back, not saying Len is that guy but he could be

I don’t think Vuc is the piece to move. I think it’s Harris, who’s quite good, but doesn’t really fit.  The idea is to fit a bunch of athletes who move the ball, kick and shoot around Vuc, and Harris doesn’t do that.
