Anybody see this guys mini interview after being drafted. It seemed refreshing. Youve got all these kids that have been through the predraft cycle giving cliche awnsers to questions their agents coached them to awnser in attempts to sell them and then they put up Luka Doncic and all I saw was a champion. When asked if playing in the Euroleague helped him prepare for the NBA he looked like he was thinking, do these guys have any clue who I am? Dallas is my new favourite team.

Yeah good luck in the west next year. He does seem like he has some dog in him. The west just keeps getting better with this draft.

If he’s even half of what they say he is, Dallas will have one of the best backcourts in the league in the next few years.

Players can be accused of being arrogant and some guys who have been the alpha dog all throughout their basketball careers get a sharp awakening when they hit the NBA and are up against the big boys.

But Luka we and he’d know isn’t that superstar elite athlete but his selling point is his all round game and basketball IQ.

He’ll have a Championship winning coach to help improve him, a very positive owner, Dirk will around for another year and Harrison Barnes has won a title so he’ll go into a good situation.

Dennis Smith rather unlike Doncic is a highlight reel type guy who could be the exact opposite of what Doncic is but together they could be the perfect mix. Both are good passers and shooters and will be able to anticipate each others’ moves. Smith may bring the ball up court and then lay it off to Doncic who can give Smith the return passes as Smith’s athleticism gets him to the basket.

Smith going off ball with his speed will also help to spread the play more.

Rick Carlisle can figure out who handles the ball when both are on court but also has a defacto ball handler available if one is on the bench.

Is he coming over this year for sure? I thought there was some debate. I actually thought Dallas might be tanking by picking him and stashing him for the year. That way, he’d show up the following year with another top 3 pick.
