Please tell me someone is watching this SEC semi-final game. Dear lord. This entire LSU team should be embarrassed. Nobody wants to play clearly.

I seriously can’t get over what a brat Simmons is. I can’t believe he’s still being heralded as the number 1 pick. How can you play with no effort, show no effort in the classroom (I know they’re in school for 1 year but clearly you all don’t realize how little effort it takes to get a 2.0 as an athlete with tutors and other resources) and still get a pass?

The talent won’t get him by forever. Wait until he gets into the league with people as talented as him…rude awakening coming. And jumpshot still broken. Wow.

If I’m an NBA executive, I’m taking a guy who is worker, in all areas of life. Ben Simmons has demonstrated he is not that. I’m tired of the excuses.

Obviously the college game/life wasn’t the right fit for Ben. I’m sure there is plenty of blame to go around from Ben to Jones to LSU.

But as an NBA GM, I know the NBA game and lifestyle is different. I would bet my job on Simmons and him making the adjustment to the NBA.

His college antics don’t scare me off on him as a pro prospect.

Only turned the game on a couple minutes ago and they look lifeless.  Did they come out playing like this from the start?

Yeah that sucks he is not the next Anthony Davis but havent we learned already?

How many points Wiggins had in his last game,7? Parker with 7?

Something pretty much the same about Harden’s tourney stats with ASU

Yes that’s shows he might not be the next Kobe

But whenever 6’10 frosh averages 19-12-5-2 and is athletic and strong, there will be very little chances he is not my favorite to go number 1

I not getting into details. My main point is, college success is overrated while evaluating elite prospects.

Just listen what we are agreeing.. the guy gets 19 12 5 2 and NOT even trying.. what if NBA competition and coaching gets him motivated.

Simmons is pissing me off. I don’t understand how you can be arguably the best player in the country, the top NBA prospect, and walk up and down the floor like it doesn’t even matter. I’m a junior in college and I play DIII ball, and I would do just about anything anything to be in his shoes. If I were playing in the SEC tournament I would be giving maximum effort each and every possession becuase I’d want to prove the scouts I’m the best and make it to the big dance. I mean this is his last chance to make it to the tournament and solitify himself as the best prospect, and in my eyes, his stock took a big hit over the last month. And today was just embarrassing.  The LSU coach should have benched Simmons after the first half. He seems like he brings the team down at times… I hope he can change his attitude because he should be a great player in the league, but it has been hard to watch this game.

GPA is probably not an issue for Simmons. Stop reading those goddamn clickbait articles.

Some of the blame needs to be put on Johnny Jones. How do you have a team enter the SEC semi finals with all this talent and lose by 33? LSU has 4-assists and 12-turnovers. This is bigger than Simmons which is likely why he hasn’t been benched. Terrible job LSU, just sad. This was a big chance for them to become a respected basketball program.

    Fire Jones.

yo y do y’all keep defecting the blame from Ben Simmons! I don’t get it like at the end of the day ballets find ways to win. I’ve never seen a player get this many excuses made for him. Y’all have to remove the emotion and see what’s really going on!

Seems like Simmons mailed in the final third of the season.  I wonder how many jump shots he takes between now and the combine.

I’ve rarely in my life seen a star come out this weak and passionless in a game that means so much. With that being said, I still am not even thinking about drafting anybody else number 1 because his talent is the best since Lebron, but he’s going to need some real guidance and mentors in his life who will push him.

I don’t see how the coach doesn’t just draw up plays for him to catch the ball in the high post, low post or on the wing and tell him to shoot. I’m talking about, make him shoot and live with whatever happens after that unless he’s triple teamed or something. To not do that in these big games down the stretch is amazing to me. It’s like he doesn’t even care.

Simmons looked like he didn’t care either. Matter of fact I know he didn’t care. lol I just don’t get it…. Maybe he already has his 100 million dollar shoe deal lined up and isn’t going to play hard because he doesn’t to get hurt. That’s all that I could come up with. You put him in a different environment around different coaches and some veterans that can push him maybe he will change. I really hope so.

Watching the game, Simmons was actually somewhat into the game early on but his teammates couldn’t handle perfect passes and missed open shots and then he got dumb fouls in frustration. Not making excuses for him, if your going to be the number one pick, you’ve got to get used to subpar teammates

I agree with you Tap and that’s why when he plays games and his team is down I never understand why he doesn’t realize that he’s the best offensive option on the team and try to score more. That’s the time when you shoot! He can score at will, but just doesn’t have it in him to try to score 40 yet. That’s if he cares about winning. It’s weird to see. It’s almost like he thinks his ability to make great passes to people who can’t finish or do anything with it is more impressive then him scoring and winning the game. .

but in the NCAA Mens game….. Which is terrible…… It’s Nothing like the NBA at this point…… This kid Simmons is Averaging 19.4 points; 11.8 rebounds; 4.9 assists; he gets to the Free Throw line an incredible 9.1 FTA’s per game & he shoots an equalling incredible 57% FG%……..

We have set the bar so high for high for this kid we have lost all reasonable objectivity & perspective…… No One else on that LSU team averages more than 13 pts & 5 rebounds or shoots even 50% FG%…… I will be Very interested to hear the ……"What went Wrong the Year Simmons played at LSU" story in a year or two……… B/C something seems to have gone wrong…… Or maybe it’s just that Every team was gunning for them ….. & giving LSU their best effort b/c it was the opponent’s chance to get Exposure……

I immediately jumped to the conclusion that it was coach Johnny Jones……. & maybe it is…… But this was Jones’ 4th season at LSU & his previous their record in the previous 3 years at LSU is remarkably similar….. 19 – 12….. 20 – 14……. 22 – 11……. & 19 – 13 this season……. Johnny Jones has been in coaching since 1999……… Maybe the team just wasn’t that good ……. Who knows…… Either way, Simmons is a special talent & I can’t wait to see him next season at the NBA Level…….. in either a Sixer’s uni….. or a Laker’s Uni……. or a Celtic’s Uni……… or a Sun’s Uni……. or a Timberwolve’s Uni

Ben does seem aloof at times, but his team is really terrible.   At this point his season is over and he needed to damn near average 30, 10, 10 in order to make that team  competetive.   Once Hornsby went down, their season was over.  Blakney was terrible a good portion of the season and LSU never really clicked.

Even IF this team managed to win it out, they weren’t gonna make any noise in the tourney.   I rather see other deserving teams get that spot.

The no jump shot should be concerning. But I’m still taking him #1 right now without thinking twice.
