ZouldiersParticipantThey have now beaten Tennessee as well and are heading to the Sweet 16. How far do you think this team can go? Final four maybe?

BallerScriptParticipantTo be honest… my heart is with UMBC as of right now
I’m loving this tournament so much and Loyola-Chicago definitely has potential to go further

SubZeroParticipantI’m not sure if they can get past Cincinnati. As much as I love a good Cinderella, the Miami team they beat was without their best player and on a buzzer beater from 3 feet behind the line, and the Tennessee team they beat has been inconsistent at times and took terrible shots and on another game winner. Not saying they can’t win, but I wouldn’t bet on it. The ball is going to bounce the other team’s way in a close game at some point
Still super impressive they made the sweet 16 though. Props to them

CoachWyersParticipantI had them winning first two and the losing to Cincinatti so I think this is the end of their run. My only double digit seed to pay off. I had South Dakota State and St. Bonaventure getting a win, Murray State in Sweet 16 and New Mexico St as my biggest sleeper going to Elite 8.

ChewyParticipantI loved how he played the game in HS for Whitney Young. No idea why he was a 2 star recruit. He is way better than that and it is showing.

tennislegendParticipantI believe despite being young Duke is still the best with Allen, Bagley, Duvall, Carter, and Trent 2nd I would say Villinova

BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantThis run puts Loyola in a category with George Mason, VCU, and Butler as recent lesser known schools to get to the Final Four. George Mason wasn’t able to build off it in the immediate aftermath, lost Larranaga to Miami, and long-term have struggled to transition to the Atlantic 10. VCU became a tournament staple up until the Shaka Smart era (and his era of players) left. Butler made its first run as a 5-seed, and with two guys who went on to have long NBA careers, which makes them a little different. They also spun its run into a place in the Big East, and have become – probably- a close to Top 25 program.
Of the three previous incarnations of Cinderella final four teams, which path do you think Loyola will most closely follow?
Background- Loyola will lose three players from their rotation- Donte Ingram (2nd in scoring, hit the game winner against Miami), Aundrae Jackson (4th leading scorer and averaging 12 in the tourney), and Ben Richardson (23 points against K-State). They will return Clayton Custer, Marques Townes, Cameron Krutwig, and Lucas Williamson. The university has a $750 million endowment, and an enrollment of about 16,400. They already moved from the Horizon to the Missouri Valley, which was a step up. They also redeveloped their arena, but the capacity is under 5,000.
