I think since the departure of Purnell and Trevor Booker, clemson has fallen off of everyone’s map.

Lets talk about them real quick, as i honestly believe that this is a top 25 team by the end of the season.

Unfortunately they lost their big recruit Marcus Thornton but i think they should be able to cover their losses.

Their Backcourt consists of three main players:
Demontez Stitt has good size at 6’2″ and is a very fast point and a good defender. he struggles at times with his shot but is very good at getting into the paint for layups or drive and dishes.

Andre young: He’s an undersized point (5’8″) who, at times, will play off the ball as a shooter. He is a knockdown three point shooter and should be used to stretch the floor.

Tanner Smith: He’s fundamentally sound and basically has a well rounded game. He’s not an elite level athlete but he can move well enough to get to the cup over defenders.

    Their frontcourt looks like this.

Noel Johnson: This kid is very athletic and at 6’7″ may play some 2 for them. He was a freshman last year and looked very raw shooting and handling the ball. He played good defense and i hope to see him break out this year.

Milton Jennings: This guy needs to step up this year. At 6’9″ he has a very faceup and perimiter oriented game for a 4. He fanices himself as a 3 but needs to start mixing it up more in the paint. He is primed for a breakout year.

Devin Booker: The younger brother of Trevor Booker. I expect him to progress right around the same speed of his brother. He came in last year as a relative unknown prospect and outperformed two 5 star recruits. He has impressed me thus far and hopefully continues to add more polish to his game.

Jerai Grant: Grant has very little skill to speak of. However he is very long an athletic and gets most of his offense created for him. He needs to step up in Trevor Bookers absence and hopefully he has a little more of a post game than he’s showed so far.

My question is, how good do you think this team is and can they finally win an NCAA tournament game. they’re a young team with only 2 seniors who will contribute. How will they fare in a tough ACC this year?

Demontez Stitt isn’t very good. He can defend and is a mediocre slasher, but his ball-handling, playmaking skills, and shooting aren’t very good for a high-major PG.

Milton Jennings is very raw. He’s going to improve from last year, as he can only go up from that, but he’s still not likely to be polished enough to play more than a limited role. He was a Purnell recruit who was supposed to be a menace in that press that he ran, but he’s not going to be a great offensive player. I think he needs alot of fine-tuning.

Devin Booker is athletic like his older brother and is a developing combo forward, and I think he has a chance to be one of the 2 best players on their team next year.

Andre Young’s shot is cash (he played HS in GA, I’ve seen him play a bunch of times), and he’s quick, but his ball-handling also isn’t very good for a high-major guard who’s really like 5’7 or 5’8.

They might be an NIT team, but they aren’t a tourny team or a top 25 squad.
