With this newly constructed superteam we know as the Warriors now polishing their roster with ring chasing vets signing for far below their value (Pauchullia is underrated and still basically starter caliber, David West is a two time all star who knows how to play). What are the odds coach Kerr is motivated enough to prove he’s worth his salt and push this team to break the regular season win record again.  It’s obvious this roster version will be considerably better than last years.  I mean just look at their two deep.

    Curry/Livingston
    Thompson/Barbosa
    Durant/Igoudala
    Green/West
    Pachullia/Speights

Maybe Speights and Barbosa take raises else where and they lean on Looney, Jones, and McCaw.  Either way that roster is freaking insane.  Winning 73 games again will be hard, but with the gap between the top teams and everyone else widening I wouldn’t put it out of the realm of positibility.  I give the Warriors a 20% chance of besting or tying the mark they set laster, what do you guys think?

There’s probably gonna be a lot of pressure from the outside to win every game and a lot of second guessing and doubters for every loss.. But I can’t imagine that’s gonna be in mind for their players through the regular season. They had their fun with that this past year and what did it get them? Almost being beat in the wcf and maybe worn out costing them the title in the finals.

So I don’t think Kerr or the players will push it that hard through the season so probably more rest days and caution on injuries. Even with all that this team looks talented enough to rebreak the record without it even being a goal.

I may be in the minority, but I don’t think this team will be able to break the record again. I honestly think it will take time for this team to gel and I expect a few losses early on (people trying to sort out roles etc). Particularly in defence, trying to acclimate new players I see the potential for some slippage. Bogut was the anchor for that defence (except in the death lineup) and now he’s gone. Will be interesting to see how they adjust.

A lot of the Reason GSW played so well was Walton using the opportunity to build his Résumé, obviously they realized they could challenge the record and they did.. They also peaked a bit to early and it cost them a title. They will coast to the title this year.. Barring injury of course

It will be hard to be better than last year. Just like it would be hard for the Lakers to be any worse. You get to a point where you just can’t go any farther.

The talent level is unprecedented, but as good as Durant is, I am pretty sure they will have a month of growing pains which could ruin any legit chance of getting more than 62 wins next season. I think 73 the 2nd year is not at all unreasonable expectation.

I think there is a just a little bit too much excitement abut this though since Durant can still change his mind and go back to OKC. Now that would f up the Warriors royal since they lost Barnes and Bogut over this.
