mikeyvthedonParticipantMinus the hell out of me, but I think he is at least facing up to the criticism and showing that he is motivated by it. I feel he is accepting responsibility for his actions and at least confronting the criticism of others, but at the end of the day he is living with his choices. Better than a lot of other things out there, I will tell you that much.

Toronto16ParticipantAll this "embracing the hate" stuff is getting old and tired now. Be like Kobe Bryant and shut critics up by winning a title.

mikeyvthedonParticipantChampionships shut-up critics. But, in the meantime, if you are going to make a commercial, I find it is cool to address what is up rather than just acting like it does not exist. Sure, ignoring the problem might be one way of dealing with it, but when you have received as much slander about something as LeBron has, it is just not overly realistic. This is why I like the ad, hell, it is better than MVPuppets which is ridiculous. I think some of Nike’s best ads have been the ones dealing with criticism, and as much as this might not be the best ad Nike has ever done, I have liked this better than most of the things they have done in the past while. He is trying to address things head on, and you are right, if he does not win a championship, than he does not do that. But, I still at least give him a chance, he is 25, signed with two great players and is just off to a new start. Plus, even if he wins, it will not shut critics up. Ever. If you hate him, chances are his winning a ring will not change that. But, I for one think he is a great player and I applaud the fact that he is seeming to take accountability for his actions and screwing up in situations, it takes guts and I feel he makes a statement.

Im Your FatherParticipantI thought it was great.I love Barkley, I think he’s smart and very funny and his book I could be wrong but I doubt it is very good. That being said he was completely wrong about the Lebron situation and It’s especially ironic coming from him, a player who never won a championship. I liked the response to Barkley, although as I said, I do like him very much.

Mr.Knick 32ParticipantI like the exact dig at Barkley. A man who: Went from the 76ers, to the Suns, to the Rockets and contemplated playing for the Wiz and MJ in 2001-2002
LeBron is ready to let it all go. This man has been the punching bag all offseason. I think he proves everyone wrong. Winning a 3rd MVP and if Miami can start clicking: A title is in play.

MkadozaParticipantChurchboy, you talking about not ’embracing the hate’ and being like Kobe?

You must have forgot this is what Nike does. Its a great commercial by the way.

Im Your FatherParticipantChurboy the first step to being like Kobe and winning is a title is to surround yourself with the necessary talent. Lebron has done that, and I’ll bet he’s able to come through with that title, if not several, in the next few years.

sheltwon3ParticipantI liked and I liked the dig at Barkley. I used to be a big fan of Barkley but lately he sounds like a bitter old man. He is doing the same stuff he used to say Bill Walton did by making it seem like his generation of basketball was so much better and the players did not get into trouble or have huge egos.

4.Refusing to pay a Gambling Debt
5.DUI’s

llperezyou know, there are a lot of things to take from that comercial and what not. But the single biggest thing that stood out to me was that there was a nike comercial spoofing a charles barkely nike comercial to make fun of chuck. How messed up is that. Nike made a ton of money off that " ia am not a role model" barkley comercial and now that lebron is their man, they are gonna take shots at chuck over a commercial he did for them? Poor taste nike.

omphalosParticipantNot a fan of the commercial, he asks a lot of questions, but doesn’t really provide any answers; sure he shouldn’t be what we want him to be, but what does HE want to be?
Not going to change my opinion on what he did, and I really hope my Celtics win tomorrow.
Also, co-sign on the poor taste by Nike, Barkley was very good to them.

He didn’t "play the race card." He was asked a question, "Do you think race plays a role in the backlash?" and he responded "I think so at times, It’s always, you know, a race factor."
That whole thing is being really overblown.
