Chicago1980ParticipantI keep hearing on sports talk shows where people are saying that Lebron will never be like Magic, Jordan, Kobe, Bird etc. The reason they give is because he is looking to move and play with another superstar. That is the dumbest thing that I have ever heard who doesnt want to play with another superstar it makes your job easier. And there are very few teams that win without at least 2 stars. The only team I can think of is the Pistons when they won. All of those players that I have mentioned had a superstar along side them to win their championships. I think that Lebron is doing the right thing in testing the market and trying to put himself in a position to win, and I believe that he will eventually win a championship.

Charlie SheenParticipantThats the reason I feel he goes to the Knicks
1. They may get Joe and Amar’e
if not
2. They get LeBron and start building this year get some picks and role players create chemistry
then
3.Sign Carmelo Anthony and maybe Nene or Al Horford plus more role guysA core of -James,Anthony,(Horford or Nene )and, Gallinari surronded by good role players is more realistic and is better than anything Cleveland, Chicago or New Jersey can put together it would just take one more year he’d wait for Carmelo they’d be Jordan and Pippen for real

NYK2010ParticipantJoe Johnson is gone thankfully.
Lebron if he comes will only come if another superstar probably a big man comes to NY.
Picks what picks, role players they have a couple will need to get more def.
Curry’s expiring contract can be used in a trade for when expired they can sign another free agent.
How many teams that have cap space now have a big expiring contract, any?0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/02/2010 - 3:09am #345433
Chicago1980ParticipantI really dont see him going to the knicks their roster is not even better than the cleveland roster he wants to win now and the knicks havent even been to the playoffs in like 10 years. If he goes to the knicks its a rebuilding process and plus D’antoni isystem is not built for the playoffs you gotta play some sort of defense yes its entertaining to watch but they aint stopping nobody on defense and they shoot a lot of 3’s. I really have no clue on where he is going its interesting though. I hope he goes to the Bulls that would be amazing. Also whats the fasination of going to the knicks anyway they havent won a championship in over than 30 years and they only have 2 for their franchise. I dont get it.

Charlie SheenParticipantWhere can he go and win now
Miami- NO they have no shooters or role players
New Jersey- NO too soft inside, no shooters
Chicago- NO too one dimensional, no 3 pt shooting,
New York- NO after next year yeah when Curry’s is off the books and Carmelo joins him
Cleveland- NO same team same shitAny team he goes to he wont win now so why not go to New York bring a guy with you go hard your first year, next year get your homie Carmelo and thats a big 3 going forward either LeBron/Carmelo/Joe or LeBron/Carmelo/Amar’e with Danilo plus you still have a 1st next year draft Kemba Walker he’s from New York he’s aggressive and fits perfect sign Chandler for MLE re-sign Wilson Chandler, look at this core
LeBron James- need I say more
Carmelo Anthony- perfect compliment for LeBron
Amar’e Stoudemire- great for pick and roll with LeBron
Danilo Gallinari- could be best shooter in the league in a few years
Kemba Walker- fast uptempo PG, will thrive with D’Antoni plus did you see Walker vs Wall last year
Tyson Chandler- 7 footer for Defense inside good pick and roll guy
Wilson Chandler- defensive stopper runs the floor great
Toney Douglas- solid back up plays great D
Andy Rautins- another shooter to stretch the floor good off benchThis can happen if they smart enough to reach out to these guys, this squad would win title after title
bring on the opinions

McWinningParticipantKnicks wouldnt have nearly enough money for Melo. Espicially if they sign Chandler, sure EDdys contract is expiring, but there would be a lot of pay increases in the 2011 season. Carmelo would want a near max contract.
0 - Posted on: Fri, 07/02/2010 - 9:17am #345607
Charlie SheenParticipantthe MAX is smaller next year starting around 14-15mil so say 14.5 they have Curry’s 13mil plus some rookies, Landry Fields, Jerome Jordan and then Bill Walker do pick up their optionsso now they add up to about 4mil in salary so 13+4=17mil so with 17mil in CAP room they sign Carmelo 14.5 then you have 2.5 go over the CAP for Wilson then you have a MLE for Tyson Chandler now it works.

McWinningParticipantStill Lebrons, Amares, Chandlers, Gallenari and a couple players contracts would go up. Add in a lower cap.
Also they wouldnt have the mle, wouldnt have the 14.5 mil, to sign Melo, plus if they did they wouldnt have Chandlers bird right anymore, so they wouldnt be able to go over the cap to get him.
I think if they wanted to use that money on Melo theyd wouldnt be able to use the team option on Gallenari.
But that all depends how much the Cap decreases. Everythings up an the air right now.
