So I don’t know a lot about how the league deals with tampering was wondering if anyone can explain or give me a picture of how this looks to play out……

I feel the big thing is the idea of the Lakers/Magic somehow building the idea and fanning the flames of PG13 basically committing to the Lakers and no one else. Once he was traded he said that all of that was overstated, but that is all well and good after the fact I didn’t hear him saying he’d sign an extension elsewhere to help Indiana move him.
Again if there was tampering I think it was minimal as PG13 simply could’ve come out or at least got his agent to tell teams he had interesting in being other places than LA in the future.

As a big Pacers fan of course I wanted more for PG and seeing what Cavs got for Irving makes it a little worse. I’m a fan of Oladipo and still think he has a fringe All-Star potential as well as Sabonis could be a solid Stretch-4 who can rebound they both have a longtime left in the NBA. I think the other factor is the Lakers are in LA which is a big time franchise in a big time media market, were it the other way around we wouldn’t have heard as much because the Indiana media market wouldn’t have the reach of LA.

    How does this end?

There will be a fine. 15,000$ for Lakers and probably 25,000$ for Magic for the "Wink wink" comment.

Hopefully the Lakers will need to give up multiple  1st round picks to the Pacers.   1-2 million fine.

It would have been much less if it was just a player saying something.

But you had a executive from the team go onto National TV.

It’s pretty obvious there was tampering, I just doubt they’ll prove it.

Each expert I’ve heard says that the standard for tampering is extremely high and that TV appearance does not come close to reaching that standard. If they have text messages between Magic and PJ, then the Lakers are ruined. Until then, pump your breaks.

Some repercussions could be PG not being allowed to play for L.A. I just doubt everyone gives up there phone voluntarily.
