TyrekeJonesParticipantUnless something is terribly wrong with ESPN , the score reads 74-29 with 6:05 in the third quarter, I knew Cleveland was bad but all I can say is, really?

0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:20pm #474220
ItsVictorOladipoParticipantI wish they kept their starters in, I was hoping they would be able to hold the Cavs to less than 50 points tonight. I suppose they still could.

llperezwow, shannon brown just shot a halfcourt shot with his feet set like it was a regular three pointer and swished it.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:20pm #474222
SteroidParticipantThat is a really ugly box score. I’ve only seen scores like that back when my girl’s high school basketball team blew people out like that…

Ghost01ParticipantI wanna know where all those people who said "Lebron had ENOUGH in cleveland" are right now…
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:21pm #474224
llperezim guessing they get about 56. Place your bets.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:23pm #474225
llperezurbanovereverything, a lot of those people saying that were cavs fans until they lost in the playoffs. But they are also missing andersen verajao, delonte west, anthony parker, boobie gibson and zydrunas iglauskas from last years team.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:24pm #474228
TyrekeJonesParticipantYea I’ll say they get around 54-56, gotta feel bad for this team
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:25pm #474229
Ghost01Participantllperez- as true as that may be, they are down damn near 50 points after 3 quarters. They have most of that team and arent even NBA COMPETITIVE.
Lebron had no help, hate the decision or the destination, still, you all have to admit he needed to get out of there.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:26pm #474230
llperezhe made the right decision leaving. Dont blame him for that at all.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:26pm #474231
ChrischiParticipantWhat the Cavs always had what other bad teams didn’t have was a defensive presense in Varejao. Now they are really bad. Really really bad.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:26pm #474232
Leftovers16Participantwere all the cavs fans at… i was remember when there was this thread about how great lebron will be… and is the next jordan and all the cavs fans are like hell the freak yes… and now all those cavs fans like deleted their accounts
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:27pm #474233
Da1potParticipantI feel sorry for Antawn Jamison the most because he though he was finally getting a shot a championship and then Lebron leaves and even more recently Varejao gets hurt. The Cavs should do him a favor and negotiate a buyout with him or trade him, though his hefty contract at his age would likely prevent the latter from happening- unless they include some "intriguing" pieces, but to me I only care about their first round pick and Hickson- and why would they get rid of either? Jamison is such a stand-up guy by not complaining at all…..
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:29pm #474234
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantThere were never any cavs fan on here. They were lebron fans.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:30pm #474236
llpereztrue, i honestly dont remember any cavs fans on here.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:35pm #474237
TyrekeJonesParticipantI feel like it was moreso Lebron fans, who loved him so much that they said he would win it all, and when he lost last year they blamed the supporting cast saying they weren’t good at all.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:36pm #474238
Ghost01ParticipantI always thought the Cavs cast sucked. They played hard defense, but you cant depend on Mo Williams in a 7 game series to be a no.2 scorer.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:38pm #474239
OldSkoolBasketballParticipantLebron just tweeted this:
Crazy. Karma is a b****.. Gets you every time. Its not good to wish bad on anybody. God sees everything!
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:47pm #474242
TyrekeJonesParticipant@urbanovreverything, they were a very mediocre squad to say the least, had a couple solid players but the offense all ran through Lebron and began to become very predictable come playoff time and like you said Mo was not a guy you want to rely on as your number two option, and it was proven in the playoffs time and time again he was inconsistent
@OldSkoolBasketball, I kinda like Lebron speaking his mind now (other then that contraction incident) and not trying to be so media savvy, kinda got fake and old after awhile, being a villian with his big ego really suits him
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 7:52pm #474244
xavier328ParticipantCavs plus/minus from the boxscore was unheard of
Antwan Jamison -46
Manny Harris -57
Mo Williams -43
thats crazy them has to be records.

OldSkoolBasketballParticipantif the lakers didn’t score a single point in the 2nd half the game would be in OT.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 8:33pm #474253
RafterParticipantugh….this was a horror show for me, being a Cavs fan, eventhough this is just another ‘L’ this will destroy the team’s already dented morale into little pieces.
Even if Varejao was playing, we would’ve still been blown out, the Lakers, on their day, are incredible.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 9:14pm #474259
Michael.S.ParticipantThis is beyond words…
btw, I was a Cavs fan, I loved that team, and still root for them to win, every game they don’t play Miami, at least.
0 - Posted on: Tue, 01/11/2011 - 9:19pm #474260
NYK2010ParticipantYou were a Cavs fan and now your a Heat fan?

Toronto16ParticipantAll the players on the Cavs should be fined and suspended.

HitsterParticipantI do feel more sorry for Jamieson perhaps than the rest of the Cleveland squad as he is a genuinely popular player who no-one would begrudge a shot at a title to. I still wonder if Cleveland just now say enough is enough and do all they can to get as many picks as possible to rebuild via, getting any sort of decent FA unless they grosssly overpaid them would be hard. So maybe look to do Jamieson a favour and get an expiring deal in for him, Dallas have Butler expiring and Dirk out, the Knicks may consider doing something with Curry’s deal if Melo doesn’t come their way, the Nets are trying to do this Melo deal and Murphy for Jamieson almost stacks up salarywise.
Also the Cavs have that big LeBron exception gathering dust, maybe take a bit of salary on and try and grab extra picks for the salary dump ideally take on an expiring deal maybe K-Mart if Denver do break it up after any Melo trade or even Yao if Houston do decide to deal him and look to cut costs. Both these teams are armed or will be armed with a few picks and the more picks that GM Chris Grant can get his hands on the better IMO.
I know that stockpiling picks may seem a long term option when the team is in freefall but it gives the GM much needed draft flexability and a chance to start rebuilding which Chris Grant having inherited the remains of a side built around LeBron he needs as much flexability as he can to help rebuild a squad for Coach Scott to try and mold into a cohessive unit.
One good pointer could be that Chris Grant ran quite a few of the Cavs drafts when Danny Ferry was GM and knows the team well so although he is in his first year as GM, he is a fairly safe pair of hands. Also Coach Scott oversaw a 18-64 in NOH in 2004-05 before they drafted CP3 and became a play off team within a couple of years, so he has overseen the transformation of a struggling team beforehand.

khaled_a_dParticipantHitster:they were trying to move every long term contract for a picks, but both Mo and Jamison values are really low right now, also they hoped they will get something from Varejao and suddenly he is out
the team right now is very bad, they once had Shaq,Big Z and Varejao, now there starting Center is Hollins!losing Lebron obviously hurts,no doubt.but they had lost some other players in the process and injuries haven’t been kind with them
right now I want them to get the 1st pick next draft b/c their fans need something good to happen
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 4:56am #474302
HitsterParticipantThe Cavs are under cap but next season their salary level only comes down by $3 million, they have a decent team option on Moon which they could use and Jamieson in his last year would have trade value on his contract. But if they are looking just to move contracts then they will not get picks for these apart from maybe Williams.
Varejao has a long term deal and I feel he needs to stay as a long term defensive presence, Hickson has regressed this year but as a rookie logically needs to stay. Parker either retires or maybe gets a bench role on a play off team, I’d assume that Williams will opt in given he is due $8.5 million next year.
I’d like the Cavs to at least get a top 3 pick so they get a shot at one of the Jones’s, Irving or Sullinger and a lockout would do them no harm as contracts could run down and come 2012 they will have lots more salary space to make use of.

LAKE SHOWYou don’t remember some of the Cavs fan who swore they would win the title 2 years ago when the Cavs were running through the regular season Llperez? After they beat the Lakers on Christmas?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 6:16am #474309
TRC1991Participantcavs have decent building blocks with christian eyenga and jj hickson but i really dont see this team turning it around anytime soon…the franchise looks bleak
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 6:42am #474313
HitsterParticipantAnother point that occured to me was Cleveland didn’t have great success recruiting an major FA’s when LeBron was on the roster, the only real notable ones were Mo Williams who had a good first season but hasn’t really produced since and Larry Hughes who was a huge disappointment. So to expect to get decent FA’s minus LeBron may be wishful thinking.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 7:06am #474319
BothTeamsPlayedHardParticipantSo I am guessing the conversation about people liking the Cavs young core and how Manny Harris is a steal will cease for a while.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 7:14am #474326
Michael.S.ParticipantYea, NYK…You can read right?
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 9:00am #474355
IndianaBasketballParticipantIF you’d have taken Allen Iverson off of the 76ers, they’d have sucked too.
My point is, this Cavs team was built around LeBron James so that he could do everything and they were just to catch and shoot, rebound, defend, etc. They’re not meant to be good without him.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 12:58pm #474419
iguapops420ParticipantI agree 100% Indiana. No way were they expected to be winners, and LBJ is partially to blame as he wanted the ball in his hands at all times never allowing for another playmaker. Williams is a 6 assist kind of playmaker, yet was never allowed to create for others. It’s not his fault that LBJ pused him as a 2nd option. A team that finishes first place 2 years running is not a bad team I’m sorry. The team is full of good players who were just buit to play D and make what the superstar gave them. IMO, they would have been nearly the same team had they had Roy,young Kobe,Wade, prime A.I., prime T-Mac. Any of those superstar perimeter scorers who are good at driving and dishing to their shooters. A ton of regular season wins, and early exit from the playoffs. The team was built to win games, not series’.
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 2:06pm #474448
LAKE SHOWI’m surprised because even before coming to Cleveland Antwan and Mo were good player sin there own right. Better then the supporting cast A.I had as far as individual talent
0 - Posted on: Wed, 01/12/2011 - 2:10pm #474450
BKKnicksfanParticipantI remember when people all around the sports world were saying Cleveland was gonna win 30 games. They can’t even score. Looks like LeBron won.
