It’s beginning to look like Magic and Rob are out of their depths when it comes to free agency. Personally, I haven’t bought into the big name free agent rumors for years but am still surprised at just how little the Lakers have done via free agency. There’s no aging kobe excuse now and Magic and Rob have been talking a very big game… PG wouldn’t even give them a meeting and Magic is giving himself just one more offseason to bring in a big name free agent.  Lebron is still in play, but I am not expecting him to come tbh. And for the sake of this convo, lets say he doesn’t. So, how do you think this all plays out? What would you like to see happen?

Demarcus Cousin and Clint Capela are probably the top targets outside of Lebron but Houston is unlikely to sacrifice any more of their defensive identity after already losing Ariza – they’re going to match any and all offers. Demarcus Cousins  may miss the majority of the coming season but would still be a huge get. But there are some lesser names that I believe the Lakers should be looking into.

-Avery Bradley bring shooting, leadership, perimeter defense and athleticism. I think the Lakers should look to give him a deal similar to what they gave KCP last year. Bradley will command a higher salary – especially if its a short term deal – but would immediately fill a need.

-Zach Lavine is a restricted agent and may be hard to pry away from chicago – if not impossible – but could be a perfect pairing next to Lonzo Ball. He’s more of a combo than a 1 or 2 and Lonzo would allow him to have the ball in his hands more than about any other pg in the league. He’s also a very good shooter and elite athlete which are two things the Lakers need from their starting 2. He’s a young guy who could blossom with the Lakers core. I would love to see him in purple and gold.

-Mario Hezonja 6’8", bouncy and can shoot. He’s the type of upside guy that the Lakers need to be taking flyers on if they aren’t going to be able to bring in big name free agents. He got off to a rocky start to his career but still has considerable upside to go with his established skillset. Give him a one year deal he can’t resist if worse comes to worse.

-Aaron Gordon is a name I didn’t really have on my radar for the lakers but is now being tied to them. If the Lakers were to bring him in, it’d have to be on a mult year deal I’d imagine. And if that’s the case, then that tells me LA is losing confidence in making a splash in 2019. Gordon’s an elite athlete with a developing offensive game. His physicality and athleticism would be nice to have on the perimeter but I consider him more of a combo. If LA strikes out on Lebron and Boogie, I’ll take AG as a consolation prize.

The Lakers might as well toss the max to Jabari Parker, if they decide to let Julius Randle walk. I believe Aaron Gordon will be matched; Jabari Parker will not be.

If the Lakers don’t land Lebron and Cousins, wait till next season..no reason to spend money to spend money. Got them in trouble with Deng and Mosgov..Randle did great second half of the season they should show him interest for sure. All these othe RFA will get maatched so why waste time on them?

Well tickle my @$$ and call me Sally! Just saw that and am beyond surprised. I’ll most certainly take it. I wonder what this means for the rest of free agency and the rest of the roster… I’ve heard that Lebron wants to play off the ball, and I actually think Lonzo is a good fit as his point guard whether he becomes a knockdown shooter or not – and I do believe he will improve his shooting to at least some extent.

I’m really hoping they don’t gut the roster to trade for Kawhi. With Lebron under contract for 4 years, they have the luxury of waiting on Kawhi imo. But with how the PG situation played out, the Lakers may be hesitant to NOT pull the trigger. I think the Lakers young core is more ready to run with Lebron than ppl are giving them credit. Kuz, Ingram, Lonzo and Hart are all basketball junkies with court savvy beyond their years.

      Now on to Boogie?

I thought I’d have til Tuesday before this may blow up in my face, yet here we are lol Totally worth it. For all I know, if I had my hopes up like I used to he never would’ve signed. So yup, you heard it, I brought Lebron James to LA with my doubt! (kidding)

On a more serious note, Magic and Rob are officially off the hook and they didn’t even have to have a meeting. So happy to see it bc I have been rooting for them and have loved the way they’ve handled everything outside of free agency.
