417basketballfanParticipantgreat game to watch. I love the grit the lakers are showing this year. On a side note… Lakers might be the ugliest team in the league lol

llperezI watched the whole game up until about 3 minutes left, then turned it back on with 36 seconds when the lakers were down 2. I heard Dwight missed a bunch of ft’s in the last 3 minute stretch?
Anyways, this game felt good. im sure the lakers will be around a .500 team withouth kobe and who knows with, maybe they can make the playoffs. Regardless, this is a much more fun team to watch then last year.

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantWow was Howard horrible.
You take the good with the bad though, he did completely shut down Gasol and snag 14 rebounds but I expected so much more from him in this game in particular.
Another thing I took from this loss (as well as the Clipper loss), the Rockets cannot and will not defend the 3pt shot. Lakers shot 35 three-pointers and converted on 16 of them.
Harden disappeared in the 4th quarter after an excellent 3rd.
All in all, the Lakers deserved to win. They were scrappy, they played together, and they played with heart. They threw everything but the kitchen sink at the Rockets tonight.
I’ve said it all along though, the Rockets are not title contenders this season. We are a defensive leader/veteran and legit PF away from competing for a chip.
On to the Lakers, these guys can get hot in a hurry but I think we all forget exactly how good Mike D’Antoni’s offense is. Especially with scrappy players that love to shoot the 3 ball. They have an uptempo line-up that is also surprisingly deep, which is why they can switch players in and out to the point where you don’t even know who the starters were in the first place.

HitsterParticipantMike D’Antoni can run an excellent offence and will encourage his players to shoot and against a team like Houston whose strength on defence is inside, it makes sense to shoot 3 pointers when you get the chance. The Lakers without Kobe can almost play with a gung ho attitude and use the D’Antoni 8 second offence as much as possible. The fans probably realise they will lose more games than usual if they try to grind out wins so why not play up tempo and try to disrupt teams.
A lot of the players on the Laketrs are playing for their future in the league and know an eye catching season in LA could earn them a nice contract there or on another team. If the Lakers can stay around .500 before Kobe returns then that’s great but if they do struggle they can then say well you expected that minus Kobe. Also the rest of the team will no doubt be trying to prove they are not a one man team and the better they do minus Kobe, the more it may drive him onto return and stamp his mark on the team again.
The downside is aq lottery pick in a loaded draft where they can take a nice talent or use it to facilitate some major moves going forward.

Memphis MadnessParticipantWiggins would be perfect for the Lakers. He might be the next big thing. He is one heck of an athlete and dunker. He has a ton of talent and upside and he could lead the next Showtime Era.
He would also be a good fit at the 3 with Kobe at the 2. Then Kobe can hand over the keys at some point.
So, if the Lakers start to falter, they might want to think about tanking it.
But, I am glad that the Lakers are doing well with an up tempo offense with a bunch of guys getting playing time and shots. I hope Kobe doesn’t screw it up.
The Lakers look like a team that can contend for one of the last 3 playoff spots out West. I think the Spurs, Warriors, Rockets, Thunder, and Clippers will take the top 5 spots, with the Lakers contending with the Grizzlies, T Wolves, Blazers, Nuggets, and maybe even the Kings for the last three spots.

Wouldn’t Wiggins be perfect for any team?

iguapops420ParticipantTOL23, you see any of Howard qoutes concerning how " his guys messed up on the final play and they know it but it’s over with now" ," we missed a ton of free throws tonight"( everyone except Dwight shot 77.8%), or how he lit into Lin in the hallway and is already complaining about his pg’s. I’m glad Lal didn’t roll over backwards for that guy. Cancerous super role player and looking like a much less impactful version of his former self.
