Daprob89ParticipantSince Melo is out the picture, lebron looking like he’s heading to Cleveland or back to South Beach and Bosh thinking about that Max deal from Houston. It’s time for plan B(Bledsoe???) who you guys think will land in L.A.?

3 No Biases 3ParticipantBledsoe would be a good option. If no one else signs they prolly sign Pau to a one year deal, try to push for a playoff spot and look to 2015. The Melo signing still has yet to be confirmed also…
Management offering Kobe so much money handcuffed this team, I wonder how different they’d be looking to free agents had Kobe offered to take less. Don’t blame him, but it could of been alot different.

TRC1991ParticipantPhoenix has 30 million in cap space. They’ll match any offer Bledsoe gets – even max offers.

IhateusernamesParticipantI hope the lakers don’t get stupid and start giving big money and years to middling players. Why tie up years and money into Ariza, deng, gasol, parsons etc. if they’re only gone end up getting bounced in the 1st or 2nd rd

Chilbert arenasParticipantBesides money and not having to move, I don’t see any reason why Pau would want to stay with Lakers

Magic JordanParticipantAt this point, I am just hoping that they don’t chase the delusional Kobe down the path of throwing together a championship contender. With what is left on the market there is no chance they can do that. I am hoping they just preserve the cap space for next year. They have done nothing proactive. They pitched and offered a Max to Melo and are content it seems to let him take as long as he wants to eventually say no. It breaks my heart to see my team in such a poor position that they have been put in largely because of who I have considered my favorite player for almost 20 years now.
At this point I was thinking maybe they can pry one of the RFA’s away at least as an asset but at this point all of them are getting swooped up while we wait for Melo. The only one left is Bledsoe who the Suns will surely match.
At least they got Randle for me to look forward to.

BiggysmallsParticipantIt wouldn’t surprise me if the Lakers were stupid and handed out huge contracts to mid level guys, and I hope they do because I don’t think the league NEEDS LA to be good. Let them have a few down years just like every other organization in sports.

benny15Participantalthough bledsoe is intriguing, i think the lakers have a better shot at going after Deng and giving him a 2 year 28 million deal or something. i think kupchak is completely open to over paying for short term deals so that when kobe’s deal expires, he has a complete blank state.
other people i would think would fit well would be mario chalmers for a 2 year, 12 million deal. kris humphries with the same. okafor for 2 years and 6 mill with the second being a player option. maybe even trade for OJ Mayo and the remaining 2 year 16 mill left on his contract. there are actually a lot of players the lakers can trade for if all they have to give up is their cap space and opposing teams are just looking to clear their books. ilyasova, gerald wallace, carlos boozer, nene, eric gordon, or mcgee are all considered over paid and teair current teams can let them go as salary dump offs.
