Is it me or does the Kyrie Irving’s game kind of remind you a bit of Gilbert Arenas and Tony Parker. Let me know what you think.

That’s interesting, I didnt know you could average 6 assists a game and not pass every once in a while.

He’s happy to pass when he can register an assist.  Parker swings the ball for the best shot for the Spurs.

Doesn’t work that way brah. Iverson would get double digit assists totals regularly and he might be one of the biggest ball hogs of all time.

Kyrie Irving is nothing like Tony Parker to me in any capacity. He is similar to Gilbert Arenas in that he is a scoring PG and prolific shooter. He does not have the strenght of an Arenas he is adept at finishing with both hands but Arenas was stronger through contact. Kyrie kinda has some Marbury in him and thats not a bad thing id say but hes nothing like Parker

He’s a mix between them for sure, speed of tony parker with the shooting ability of arenas. He lacks the basketball IQ of tony and the size and clutch factor that Gilbert had. I can see why you’d think that though.

Kyrie has hit game winners and is known for his big shotmaking ability but he still isn’t Tony Parker.

Tony Parker has a knack for finishing and so does Kyrie…  With both hands…  Also, has a floater…  I could see why he said Gilbert because unlike Parker, Gilbert shot a ton of 3’s…  I see what he did there, but all 3 are just scoring guards.  I think Kyrie and Tony are more PG’s than Gilbert ever was though…

Parker is the best pg in the nba. The only pg who has proven he can lead a team to the finals as the best player on the team.

Kyrie has done nothing. Regular season stats are not convincing me that kyrie is good. Hes a bad teammate and not even close to being better or close to parker

Whats with all the Irving hate. You guys are gonna look very stupid when he is 25. Alot of you guys talk about Cleanthony Early still having potential as a 23 year old yet are talking about Kyrie’s weak points as if he cant improve his basketball IQ. A 22 year old considered a future team USA standout, face of a franchise, that has averaged 20ppg and 6apg in three seasons, and is a Coach K product cant improve his decision making, leadership/teamwork?

Im just not buying this junk. He did jack up alot of bad shots this year but Cleveland stunk. They sign Bynum who has been a shell of himself and he obviously was complacent then they trade for Deng who obviously didnt want to play in Cleveland.

Those two players are not guys you want to put around a bunch of 20-24 year old guys still learning to win. Sometimes players are forced to play a bit more selfish because there are faults in the offensive system in place, or because players are not showing they are capable or trustworthy to hit certain shots in different moments of the game. Irvings supporting cast this year was Dion Waiters and Luol Deng. Deng was playing for a contract and Waiters is a similar player to Kyrie without the natural feel for the game Irving has and playmaking skills.

This is what happens when you draft best ready to play player available every year, you sign players and trade for players recklessly, hire coaches that arent the right fit for the rebuild, instead they go for win now coaches like Scott and Brown.

With a good offensive coach and system in place I think Irving blossoms. I still view him as a great pointgaurd with upside to be one of the best PGs of all time. Like Top 20-25.

If Irving doesnt try to dominate everyone will call him passive, if he does try to dominate through scoring and comes up short everyone hates on him. Its a double edged sword. People are starting to treat Kyrie the same way they treat Westbrook.
