The Timberwolves are on a bit of a down season and as a fan of them i really hope they can surprise people next year…so i was thinking since we have a 25% chance in the lottery (we probably wont win it cuz the wolves always have bad luck in it) if we get Kyrie we will have a solid point guard with a actual bright future unlike Jonny Flynn…so since we have kyrie we could trade Rubio and Flynn for a veteran center and a solid shooting guard. Or we could trade the #1 pick and move down in the draft to get Brandon Knight and get like a decent defensive guard or center. Then we could keep rubio since we filled the need for a defensive presense. Then we could just trade Flynn for another veteran or defensive stopper. Also what are your thoughts on who should this defensive or veteran shooting guard or center be???

The trade-down/keep Rubio idea is ok.  I don’t think you want to bank all your hopes on Knight or even Irving.

I know Dalembert is a name getting thrown around.  Deandre Jordan, as well, but he might be too expensive.

One guard who might be moved this off-season is Dahntay Jones.  After starting on a Western Conference-runners up team, he has been relegated to fourth man off the bench for the middle-of-the-road Pacers.  And he is definitely a good defensive player.  That’s kind of his M.O.

Trade the Number 1 pick and Flynn to Cleveland if they dont get it for Verajo, then draft Knight.

    Roation:

    Rubio/Knight
    Johnson
    Beasley
    Love
    Verajo

Cavs dump bad contract for rebuilding and get the number 1 pick.  Wolves get a good defensive center to play beside Love.

    Win/Win??

Draft Irving. Trade Rubio to the Clippers and get their own 2012 pick back

I don’t see how Varejao is that much of an upgrade over Milicic. If anything I’d actually put Darko higher. The DJ pick-up is a good idea, but I’d rather see them go after Arron Afflalo, even though he’d be expensive. I want Martell Webster traded somewhere too, so he can actually start at the SF where he belongs instead of coming off the bench.

Trade #1, Jonny Flynn and Wesley Johnson to Portland for Greg Oden and Brandon Roy

Draft Nolan Smith with the #19 pick

    T’Wolves

    Oden/Milicic

    Love/Randolph

    Beasley/Webster

    Roy/Ellington

    Rubio/Ridnour

    TrailBlazers

    Camby-Aldridge-Batum-Matthews-Irving

    Dalembert(FA)-Wallace-Johnson-Fernandez-Mills-Johnson

That is ludicrous bull-defecation.  The Blazers would never trade Roy and Oden for Jonny Crappy Point guard and unproven Wes Johnson and #1 pick in a week draft.  That would leave them with, what, Aldridge and Kyrie Irving?

Keep the pick.  Draft Irving or whoever they want.  Then trade Rubio to a delusional team.  Rubio might just be Jimmer without a jumpshot.
