bjcart53ParticipantWho is the ACC freshman of the year and why? If you have another name to throw out there like Ian Miller, CJ Leslie, Reggie Bullock…feel free and let me know what you like about each

OrangeJuiceJonesParticipantDon’t forget about Ryan Harrow. He’s been slept on for far too long.

JNixonParticipantI think it’ll be Harrison Barnes. Duke will be the best team and I think Nolan Smith or Kyle Singler will be the ACC P.O.Y, but Barnes will shoulder so much production for UNC that he should have the most impact in the ACC next year.
Irving will be good and the votes should be pretty close, but playing with Nolan Smith, Seth Curry, and Andre Dawkins? Something has to give in terms of production and whatnot…Irving still has superstar upside though as an NBA prospect.

mikeyvthedonParticipantAs great as Irving will play, and as much as people may be sleeping on Ryan Harrow, Harrison Barnes will be my favorite to win ACC Freshman of the Year. He will be the unquestioned leader of a much improved UNC squad and I think he will shoulder a solid scoring load, while putting up impressive all around numbers. While this may seem high, I do not think around 19 points, 8 rebounds and 3 assists is out of the question for averages with a margin of error being +-1. He is a special player, and while this is no doubt a great year for ACC freshman, Harrison will really be the standout. Irving will be controlling the best team, but like Jorrye said, it will be Nolan Smith and Kyle Singler who get most of the credit. Their is a reason Harrison Barnes as seen as the #1 prospect in his class and possible first pick in the draft, and he should have at least near the impact on NC that John Wall had on Kentucky, even though Reggie Bullock and Kendall Marshall are not as ready to play big roles as some players in Wall’s impressive recruiting class. But, I think Barnes will really stand out on that NC team, who if healthy could really surprise.
