Tobe BryantParticipantAfter looking at a couple of player comparisions for Kyrie Irving, I have seen some interesting things. Some say his ceiling is of both Chris Paul and Deron Williams. His floor has been said to be of that of Eric Maynor. I see his floor as a Jarret Jack type of guy if he doesn’t get to the all-star status that we would like to see. A solid PG all across the board with no glaring weaknesses. Jack was a prospect coming out of GA Tech with the same kinda of scouting report, that where he didn’t stand out at anything but wasn’t bad by a long shot.

HobbyOGParticipantWill never be strong enough to be a Deron Williams…I like the Isiah Thomas comparison..

Chilbert arenasParticipantI think the Mike Conley one makes the most sense especially considering he was compared to Chris Paul coming out of Ohio State.

kevnix5ParticipantI think his floor is better than Jarrett Jack. There is no way he won’t be a top ten PG in the league within the next couple of years something Jack has never been. I know you’re not saying he won’t be better than Jack but I can’t see him being that bad no matter what (barring major injuries of course). I would say Mike Conley would be more appropriate as his floor. Conley is still improving and will get much better but I would say where Conley is at right now would be Irving’s floor. His ceiling is probably somewhere just below Chris Paul I don’t think he will ever reach Paul’s level even in the perfect situation.

B FreeParticipantIts funny that people keep saying Conley is his floor, I think Conley is his straight up comparison the worst he can be is 14ppg 6.5 ast come on, I think thats the type of player he will be he will have a few higher scoring years but once they get their Harrison Barnes or Jeremy Lamb or whom ever to hit their stride he will be the second option.

SteroidParticipantNah, he’ll be better than Jarrett Jack. That said, I don’t think he’ll ever be close to Chris Paul’s peak, who is a legit MVP level player, and top 3 player at that point in time. I see him being a solid PG. Not a PG that will make players around him look like all-stars, but a solid one who’ll be a good sidekick to a better player. He’ll be a top 10 PG in the league at some point in his career for sure, but I think a guy like John Wall will get there faster.

aamir543ParticipantLook I have no clue so I am gonna take the safe path so I am going to say somewhere in between Michael Jordan and Brian Scalabrine. I have no clue where, but better than Scal, not better than MJ.
Anybody disagree?

GottaBeTheShoesParticipantI disagree.. You think he is the between the best ever and the 2nd best ever? Scalabrine is the greatest and Jordan is 2nd.. I think putting him there is just too high.

aamir543ParticipantFrom 2:40 to 2:50, I am confused. Why is Scalabrine in a two point game with 30 seconds left in OT?
