jarviswiseParticipantI personally believe if a team needs to fill a need at point and at the wing I would select Irving. From what I’ve seen, granted it was limited college action and few high school games, this dude will be a very, very, very good point guard in this league. Idk if he will be great, but i think he does everything well. While lacking extreme quickness, I believe he has a supreme handle. And is smart enough to make up for the lack of elite quickness.
We’ve seen Chris Paul not look as quick this year, but because he’s heady and has an elite handle he is still extremly effective.
I deff believe Irving has the potential to be great, but idk if he’ll reach it, but if he falls short I think he will be very, very, very good. And very, very, very good point guards are championship point guards. Look at Tony Parker. Look at Chauncey Billups.
I dont think you can pass on a very, very, very good point guard.

NJHooper95ParticipantSome say he is the greatest guard to ever come out of New Jersey. Jersey guards have had tough breaks with injuries in the NBA (Hurley, Wagner, Jay Williams) but scholastically and on the collegiate level they have dominated. One thing that can never be questioned is his toughness. If he is truly the greatest guard out of Jersey, I have no doubt that he will be a good player and leader, and possibly a tremendous player. Offensively he is as good as any guard in college that last few years. He can pass, shoot, great handle, good not great athlete, and a leader. Some people have doubts because he is not as athletic as a wall, rose, or westball. But coming out of college he is more skilled than all of those players when they where coming out of college.

DC ChillinParticipantYou’re Correct
Kyrie Irving everything it takes to at least be a core contributer on a real good team down the road, and you never know, some guys production increase when they go from college to the league, ie Westbrook, Rose, D-Will

KayjayParticipantOther than that, there’s nothing you’re telling us that we don’t already know my man.

jarviswiseParticipantKayJay what I’m saying is I don’t think you can pass on the point guard. I know there are people who are high on Williams, or Barnes if he comes out. But I feel the best available prospect is Irving and I think he will be the best player out of the draft.

OhCanada-ParticipantIrving eerily reminds me of Deron Williams more then he reminds me of Paul. People underrate his elite scoring package, and his dribble.
