ChrischiParticipantSo apperently Kyle Weaver, former OKC role player, joins my hometown team in Berlin. Obviosly anyone who is close to being a NBA Player is going to be a force in the German League. My question is: What do you guys think of him? Can his game translate to European Basketball or does he even fit well on a European Team?

Allen_Iverson_3ParticipantI’m pretty sure his game will translat well in Europe. He’s a complete guard with a nice shooting touch and solid defence. I’d compare him to Immanuel McElroy on the European scene. So Chrischi I think he will be a solid player for your team.

Off topic but how hard is it to see a game in Germany? I’m backpacking across Europe next summer and would love to see some type of game there (whether exhibition or not).

mikeyvthedonParticipantI thought he might stick around the NBA. He is a very complete player, also a really solid defender. He is long, quick and could really play either guard spot, definitely someone I am not concerned about as far as putting the ball on the floor. I am sure that whatever team is playing for, he will make an impact, you got yourself a player.

ChrischiParticipantThanks for all the answers so far.
My Team already purchased DaShaun Wood, the MVP of the German League. Looks like we got ourself a powerful and dynamic backcourt duo.
@Tha_Prince
You usually get cards right at the stadium. Games are very rarely sold out and if you’re a few hours early you should almost always get cards. But a few warnings. I don’t know how much you want to pay, but the cheapest tickets are usually for "standing spots" which means that you have to stand for the entire game. Also these spots are usually right in the middle of the hardcore fans which means that they’re going to shout in your ear and play drums the entire game. Adding to this some teams have really pathetic stadiums. They’re not really stadiums, they look more like a school gym sometimes, it’s really sad. So if you want you want to watch a game I would advise you to watch a game in one of the bigger cities like Frankfurt. We in Berlin by the way have one of the biggest stadiums in Europe so if want to watch a game then do it here.
I think it’s not much different in other parts in Europe.

JNixonParticipantI liked Weaver too at Wazzu. He was a good defender and athlete, and he could play PG and SG because he was a decent passer and ball-handler. He was never truly a good shooter, although he was a better shooter than he was given credit for. He just didnt stand out enough anywhere for the NBA

Thanks for the feedback, Berlin would be my first option. I wouldn’t mind standing either, judging by my level of intoxication I may be more annoying than most of the people around me haha. I think just going to a game in Europe would be quite the experience in itself. I’m pumped for it!

shooting-guard9ParticipantI’m from Belgium, and last year he played for Charleroi, easily the best team in my country.
He didn’t start, but he was a scoring punch of the bench. He was good, although he never met my expectations.
And there’s big difference between our Belgian League with 9 teams and the NBA…

llperezWashington state had some of their best seasons as a program in recent decades behind Weaver as well as pg derrick low. I mean those 2 guys has Wazzu ranked top 10 in the nation for a little while and went to the sweet 16. Its pretty much been summed up already with kyle, good at everything, but the only thing he did at an nba level was probably defend.
