Kyle Singler
matt Barnes or Jeff Green mix probably
I think that Singler is the PERFECT fit for this team.. As far as a player comparison... IDK...
Maybe:
Best case - Tayshaun Prince
Worst case - Adam Morrison
Probable case - CJ Miles with more of a PointForward mentality
No I didn't I'll check...
... Wow those people at draft express do have the same comparisons as me.
But I didn't say Best case Jeff Green and worst case Matt barnes, I said a
"Matt Barnes and Jeff Green mix"
plus I think Best Case: Trevor Ariza
Worst Case: Adam Morrison (with better hair)
Singler is very underrated... 37th overall? Come on! He should be a top 20 pick in this weak draft. Then again most teams select potential over immediate contribution ability.
I can see him being selected by top team to add depth.
He reminds me of Luke Walton or maybe Francisco Garcia. Limited offensive player who spots up and shoots open jumpers with decent accuracy, inconsistent with his shot, makes smart passes in the flow of the offense and lacks the speed and a good enough handle to create much. He'll struggle on D because of his lack of athleticism and physical tools, but he won't be a complete liability because he plays with decent energy and because he'll be smart. I can see him taking alot of charges and that kind of stuff. Prototypical backend roatation guy on the wing.
Singler doesn't have anywhere near the slashing ability, physical tools, defensive capability and athletic ability to be like Jeff Green, Matt Barnes, or Trevor Ariza. Not to mention, he's a better perimeter shooter than all three of them.
I like that Luke Walton comparision..And Singler also plays like another former Duke player Danny Ferry, but his shot isnt as pure as Ferry's was at this stage...Both were undersized, smart players, that lacked athleticism...
poor mans mike dunleavy
Shawne Williams
Andres Nocioni
Dunleavy jr. has been a major underachiever since he's been in the league..With the skills he's blessed with..He should've been a much better player than he's shown...
Singler doesnt have the skill set of Dunleavy jr. ..But i think if Singler gets lands on the right team,he's going to surprise some people...
I was never impressed with Dunleavy, not one bit, overated as heck. Plus he was a stat padder at Duke. A lot of games where Duke had blowouts and would take Boozer and Jay Williams out, they would leave Dunleavy in and thats how he got a lot of points that attributed to his 17ppg scoring average. Never forget when comentator said he was a top 5 player in the country that year. Wanna talk underacheiver from Duke...McRoberts, now that guy has talent. Dunleavy...extremely overated.
I much prefer the character and heart of Singler than I do the skill set of Dunleavy. Singler is a very good player. I would not say he is a Matt Harpring though. Harpring as much as an overacheiver as he was, there was a reason he had a good career, the guy was tough as nails! Very strong, physical, could shoot it and rebound, one of the greatest overachievers ever. I will agree and say if Singler is on the right team he could be a surprise, but I will go further and say that if thing line up in favor of him...he WILL be a better player than Dunleavy.

According Paul Banks of the Washington Times, and David Kay of the The Sports Bank, OKC looks to be interested in Kyle Singler.

Could this guy be that piece coming off the bench that could get them to the next level (assuming James Harden starts next year) being that he is a basketball savvy/proven winner? What is a good player comparison on Singler?
