by my opinion 7’0 PF from Latvia Kristaps Porzingis is bigest prospect at U-18 championship. Remeber that name, he might be prospect with bigest upside in whole europe since Dirk Nowitzki

At moment he does not dominate, but he is jet to cathch his age groupe in physical development. But Kid is amazing. Has shooting touch, athletic abilitys, handles ball amazing for height, has very good athletic abitys, has good understanding of game, grat shoot block timeing, lenght. Kid is just pure talent. Only thing questionable is his frame, but we will see how much he will get wider when his development is done. I can defentley see him being first pick oveall i 2-3 years

Great thing for him he plays for Spanish Cajasol and is coached by Aito, probably best coach in whole europe for young prospects

Tskitishvili, Vesely, Pecherov, virameenko, sundov, tsakalidis, rebraca, so many Euro players that come over and suck. I’ll put any amount of money on that kid porzingis NOT being drafted in the lottery at all, let alone #1.

Gasol probably should have gone #1, over the three HS center prospects that year. And I don’t think it would have been too much of a shocker if he had been, he was a pretty damn good prospect.

I dont know if he ‘ll be a top pick in next drafts but with is length, quickness and fluidity he is NBA material for sure.

yeah, he needs polish his skills. but pretey much he has potential to do evrythin PF needs to do. Shoot, play p’n’r, face the basket or play with back to basket. Also just by geting stronger evrything will come easier for him. My bigest oncern is his ultra skiny frame wich eventually can limit his potential

I just saw this discussion about Kristaps. Its true, he is next BIG thing in Latvia basketball future. He now is better than Biedrins, when he was at his age. Decent defender with great timing and basketball IQ. Only minus for him is his frame, but he has only 18. People are growing till 21 years of age and than we can see how he can bulk up his body and dont loose his pluses.

And Durant also have weak frame, Prince, Bosh and so on, if we look on this players and who are guarding who. Not all can be LBJ or Howard, and no needed to be.

However this two national youngster teams u18 and u20(silver in Euro 2013) is full of talents and future is very bright for Latvia. After this championship he need to be in nba draft prospect TOP. He is better than Andris Biedrins in this age, and Biedrins was drafted 11th overall.

Latvia lost yestrday to Croatia, and main things do refree for bad decisions late in game. However, today Latvia lost to Spain by 1point in game for 3rd place. Sad, very sad, but thats life.
