Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantApparently he’s only going to play 20-25 minutes tonight. He’s in the starting line-up and the crowd is super hyped. Let’s see how he does in his come back.

KayjayParticipantIt looks like he’s looking for an easy basket to get himself going. Can’t blame the guy.

llperezTerrence ross with the 60 footer at the buzzer. At least the lakers bench brought some energy after the starters stunk it up. Pau dropped/bobbled like 5 passes.

strobox88ParticipantI’d like to see the Lakers play Kobe with Nick Young and see how that works out for them.

strobox88ParticipantLakers have no answer for him. If they can stop him, they might just be winning righ now.

llperezhalftime. Kobe played 14 minutes. Has 5 points on 2-5 shooting with 4 boards 3 assists and 3 turnovers. Looked good moving around. Sloppy with the ball though. Threw some bad passes trying to make plays every time. Not terrible. great left handed bank shot in the defenders face. Xavier henry needs to get more pt in the second half.

HaleParticipantHow has Xavier looked this year? I haven’t caught any Laker games but heard he’s been useful.

llperezhes been good. I think he is the best on ball defender on the team. He is also playing pg right now with farmar and nash both out. He attacks the rim hard. The lakers bench has been fantastic and hes a big part of it. He can still disappear for stretches and gets into some trouble driving into traffic. In the first half today he played 7 minutes and has 9 points, 2 assists a steal and has the highest +/- of any laker. Don’t know why mike didn’t keep him out there a little longer. For the season he is averaging 9 points and shooting 45% from three which is fantastic although he doesn’t shoot a ton. His career is definitely alive and kicking.

HaleParticipantThat’s interesting that he’s playing PG. I wasn’t aware he had the ability to do that, even for short stretches. Glad to see him succeeding though, he’s a guy I really liked in college.

llperezby far the biggest surprise for me that I noticed from his first pre-season game is that he is a better ball handler then I realized, never knew he could handle the rock before this year.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI owe Henry an apology… After watching him with the Hornets last year, I just felt he was trash.
He’s better than I gave him credit for. He still has a chance to put together a decent NBA career.

llperezwell lakers gonna lose this one. kobe was sloppy with the ball. Pau stunk in every way imaginable. and what is up with henry getting no love from coach? He has scored 17 points on 6/8 shooting and has zero turnovers on a night where everyone is turning over left and right. Yet he only plays 14 minutes?

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantThe Lakers took a tough loss but let me focus on Kobe alone.
He looked confident and obviously wanted to pass rather than shoot. He did look slower but was still able to get a few shots that he usually makes. Most of his misses was simply getting the rust off because those were shots that Kobe makes. His ball-handling was sloppy but again, that deals more with rust rather than bad ball-handling.
In short, it looks like he’s still the same old Kobe, just a little rusty, (very) slightly out of game shape, and his timing was off but didn’t seem as if he’s missing any of his game. I wouldn’t be surprised if he drops 20-25 points on the Christmas game.

Ahkasi ClayParticipant1. Lakers have a winning record in games kobe doesn’t play
2. Kobe leads the league in average of turnovers per game this year
(i know it is one game, but I am enjoying this)
