Not only does Jordan

Not only does Jordan understand it, Kobe does too.

There was an interview that Magic did with Kobe not too long ago in which Kobe said he didn't even know what it meant to be considered the greatest player of all-time and that he was just humbled to be mentioned among the greatest ever. He said it was basically impossible to determine something like that when you look at what each player did and the impact they had during their eras.

For Jordan, considered by many to be the greatest ever, to say he thinks Kobe is a top ten (could be 6th for all we know) *All-Time* guard overall is quite a compliment in my opinion.

When it's all said and done, I do think that Kobe will be considered hands down the second best two guard behind Jordan... And possibly the third best guard overall ever behind Jordan and Magic. A lot of people think Kobe can pass Jordan and Magic, but I don't think he can due to the overall impact they had on the game of basketball in itself. Their impact when far beyond stats and rings.

im sorry indiana basketball, calling kobe a top 10 gaurd is not a compliment. Tell me right now that bird, magic, jordan or kareem would appreciate being called top 10 at thier position.

That's wrong though... Jordan

That's wrong though... Jordan didn't say Kobe was a top ten shooting guard. He said he was a top ten guard, meaning he was talking about point guards and shooting guards together.

I could see the problem with it if he *specifically* said Kobe was a top ten shooting guard or top ten at his position. He didn't say that though.

IF you look through history, there have been some AMAZING guards (point guards and shooting guards). You don't think being called one of the top ten EVER is quite a compliment? And it's not like he said Kobe was 10th. You don't know where he has Kobe ranked in his mind.

Everybody has their own criteria when ranking players. Jordan is no different. Then you have to consider he probably has more respect for players he grew up watching and the ones he competed against. I think top ten guards overall and top five shooting guards sounds about right for Kobe.
