Thank you to Kurt Helin of ProBasketballTalk at NBC Sports. Here is the link to the post on the first video

Great effort by this youtube channel in making this video. It is almost like immitating your favorite player when you were a kid. Except that kid grew up to be a total bad@ss in his own right.

That’s pretty good. It’s like Kobe idolized Jordan and tried his best to mimic his moves to the point of practicing them over and over. Oh wait. He did!! Haha. They’ve always been so similar to me with Jordan being a little more explosive athletically and a little more consistent. People act like the MJ vs Kobe argument is silly. Yes Jordan is better but it’s worth a conversation. Think Kobe gets a bad rap for being in this era. Under the microscope a bit more I think with social media and media coverage. I just hope people have enjoyed and appreciated Kobe.

Complete respect for Kobe and what he has done, as he is probably the second or third best player i have got to watch personally. But 2 finals MVPs vs 6 finals MVPs is bordering on a silly debate.

I’ve always heard that Kobe has small hands for his size. That he can’t even palm a basketball. And Jordan obviously has much larger hands and it is evident in the way he dunks and manipulates the balls direction on challenged layouts and dribbling around defenders. Maybe I’m putting too much into this issues but I wonder how much easier Kobe could have dominated if he could control the ball even just a tiny bit better. In sports, every little inch(literally) and advantage is helpful. Kobe is an all time great, not saying he would’ve had more rings or awards( which would be hard to accomplish anyways since he has many of both) but if it would’ve helped him score 1 more point a game or half of a turnover less or another rebound, those things add up. Crazy talk I’m sure, just was thinking about that as I watch these comparison videos.

Kobe is only 676 points away from passing Michael Jordan on the NBA’s all-time scoring list.

How many games do you think it will take Kobe to score the 676 this season?

30 even. Whenever he ends up playing.

It has also taken Kobe almost 200 more games to pass Jordan’s career scoring mark. It took MJ 1072 games to score the amount of points that he scored. Kobe has played 1239 games and still has not surpassed MJ. Perspective.

True. But Jordan went to college for 3 seasons to fine tune his game. Then was drafted at 21 to a horrible team where he was given the green light from day 1. Kobe was drafted at 17 years of age and had to earn every minute while playing behind 2 all-star guards on a title contender from day 1. He goes to college for 3 years then gets drafted by a bad team, he probably drops 25 a game immediately and cuts off that 200 extra games needed or close to it.

Kobe was brilliant at copying his game after Jordan. He really gave those that hadn’t seen Jordan, a glimpse of what he was like. Kobe even copied Jordan’s killer instinct. I definitely respect Kobe and his game more than most and I’ve never liked the Lakers or Kobe as a person.
It makes me wonder, I don’t consider Kobe the 2nd greatest player ever, but if Jordan never existed and Kobe did(with all of his Jordan-esque abilities and etc.) would Kobe be the GOAT?

I still believe that Tim Duncan > Kobe in this era. And LeBron will definitely be remembered as being better than Kobe without a doubt.

To be blunt no. 2 finals MVPs is not GOAT worthy my friend. But he’d definitly be the best two guard of alltime
