Michael.S.ParticipantWhat do you guys think about the way he is playing now? Dude took 6 straight shots each previous Laker possession

db24kb24ParticipantIf basketball had defensive coordinators Brown be near the top behind Thibideau, but he needs an offensive genuis on his staff because the plays he runs is "get it to kobe and clear out" which is very similar to what he ran in cleveland with that Lebron guy.
I think Kuester is the offensive guy, and we all know how detroit feels about him…smh

db24kb24ParticipantHaha Kobe in denial, yeah kind of. He just doens’t know any other way. He’s been the man for so long he still feels like he can and should be the man now. His vision is distorted because he’s such a great competitor, but unfortunately it will probably end up costing this team. It’s hard for a 1st year Lakers head coach to come in and tell the legend and hall of famer to give it up, or at least allow anyone else to shine.
Brown is a nice guy and energetic, but I would have loved to have tried an Adelman because at least you know that he’ll be the dominant presence overrulling KB24. He’s too seasoned/experienced to be taking KB’s sh*t, and his offense is fluid.

llperezif by denial you mean he isnt the type of guy to quit being great, then yeah hes in denial. Guy is playing terrific this season. He had the terrible game vs denver where he shot 6-28 but has played great in all 3 games since getting 30+ each time. ANd people want him to step aside as the man for the lakers? Thats not who he is and the day that comes will be the day he retires.

inukawaii8Participanti have to ask.. why do ppl care about how much kobe shoots… when kobe shoots… ppl notice and then consider him as a ball hog… this season he is shooting more than previous years about 2 attempts more… but in previous seasons… duarant, ellis, stoudamire, melo, wade, and lebron all had more attempts than kobe did.. ppl dont consider some of them as ball hogs.. while dirk, redd, granger, jackson, bosh, rose, and etc.. all shoot in high volume.. no one ever said anything.. why ppl only focus on kobe? i heard bogus arguments before saying "o but look at wade and lebron’s assist numbers…" this season.. kobe’s assist is around 6.. higher than previous years… does that justify it? i dont think so..

llperez28 points 6 assists and 6 rebounds. He is still the best sg in the league just like he has been for over a decade now.

db24kb24ParticipantI have no problem with him being great, but there are various ways to be great while including your teammates. If he takes 6 shots on 6 straight possessions, then on the 7th kicks it bcuz he is caught up in the air and needs help, then gets "that look" on his face when they miss a shot, thats not being great. How do you expect World Peace or any of their players who struggle with confidence to find a rhythm when Kobe won’t allow them to shoot? And they end up forcing shots because they don’t know how to properly get into the offense.
Kobe is my guy, I just need the LAKERS to be clicking on all cylinders. I can care less if KB goes for 14 or 34 as long as we get W’s.

Michael.S.ParticipantYou think Kobe is still better than Wade perez?
0 - Posted on: Fri, 01/06/2012 - 8:45pm #622479
KayjayParticipantThink its the only way the Lakers win. Kobe is doing what it takes to win. If it was last year when they were stacked, sure I’d say that is too many shots. But that is the only way the Lakers can win. Which is scary, because that team doesn’t have much depth.

jeff416ParticipantI’m just happy he is on my fantasy team. He is putting up great numbers so far!

For_Never_EverParticipantCould be the hand issue is bothering him.

db24kb24ParticipantLike you said there are some stars that take more shots yet they are not considered ball hogs, why is this you ask? It’s because the shot selection KB24 chooses. You don’t mind a Lebron or Monta driving in to the bucket trying to draw contact in a one on one situation. KB isolates at the high post/wing backs his man down two steps, gets no separation and either shoots falling away or tries to bait his defender into biting on 4 or 5 consecutive pump fakes while 4 other guys are circulating to open spaces with their hands in shooting position. Kobe is Kobe because he can actually hit these shots that many would consider circus shots, or shots that have a high degree of difficulty. But when he misses they just look horrible. KB takes shots that would get 95% of NBA players benched immediately, he makes his fair share and misses some too. But he is Kobe and thats why some consider him a ball hog over others.

NYK2010ParticipantGive the ball to Bynum and Gasol a lil more use Kobe for crunch time in the 4th qtr more.

SupParticipantI think Kobe haters are in denial and have been for over a decade. He’s the best since Michael.
0 - Posted on: Sat, 01/07/2012 - 3:59am #622522
Meditated StatesParticipantHe has Bynum and Pau so he needs to get them going a little more. Overall he is still playing a good game and the offense has changed. I really don’t like Brown for thiis job cause I feel Kobe is the coach and the boss there, and it looks obvious too. Kobe is settling for the jump shot more, but that happens as you lose some spring and explosiveness. Kobe just needs to be rested at the right time this year so he is ready come playoff time. I hope Brown has the nuts to tell Kobe he is gonna shut him down at times. Kobe is not in denial. He is still the man.

IndianaBasketballParticipantI’d take Kobe over D. Wade right now. People say Kobe is old, but it’s D. Wade who’s missing games.
0 - Posted on: Sun, 01/15/2012 - 9:50pm #625463
NYK2010ParticipantOnly problem is Kobe will be logging too many mins and it will hurt playoff time. Wade always seems hurt I wonder how many yrs he has left in the league he’s already 30.
