Kobe

Listen I'm ready for the negatives, but this is how I feel and I have thought this through. Many believe that Kobe Bryant will eventually surpass Kareem Abdul Jabbar as having scored the most points in NBA history. Lets look at pure facts- Kobe has 27,868 points and Kareem's record has 38,387 points. They are seperated by 10,519 pts. Kobe will be 33 come August 23 and If we can all agree, Kobe's prime has passed. Now this is the hard part, assume how much longer he will play and at what level. I will just go with 6 more season(this was the hardest part but I just don't see Kobe as the type to come back and play when he's 39, if he's barely cntributing). So 10,519 pts. in around 6 seasons. When calculated this means he will need to score about 1750 points per season, or if he plays every single game for the next six seasons, his average per game scoring would have to be 21.3 ppg. Now I believe Kobe will be able to score between 22-26 ppg over the next 3 or 4 seasons, but after that I see a steady decline. And when you add the fact of how injured he's been(finger and knee) I doubt he will play in every game over the next 3-4 seasons, the fact that there are better perimeter defenders in the league every year, and that Kobe will eventaully lose the 1st option on offense, I think you can at least make this statement without being considered crazy- KOBE BRYANT WILL NOT SURPASS KAREEM ABDUL JABAR ON THE ALL-TIME SCORING LIST!

I disagree but no neg's cuz its possible but

with the way pau gasol played in the playoffs, someone has to be the number 1 option aka Kobe. He has the mentality where he will not give up until something done.

Yeah I feel ya, I mean I know

Yeah I feel ya, I mean I know what type of guy Kobe is but eventaully its going to get where he won't be able to do it physicaly. I mean eventually he will have to lose that 1st option and decline.
