    New York Knickerbockers President of Basketball Operations Donnie Walsh announced today that the team has signed forward Shawne Williams as a free agent. Per team policy, terms of the deal were not disclosed.

    Williams, 6-9, 225-pounds, has career averages of 5.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 13.4 minutes in 126 games (six starts) over three NBA seasons with Indiana and Dallas.

    He looked bad in the Summer League. I’d keep Ewing Jr. over him, he has improved a good bit since he left Georgetown.

    I wouldn’t want his lazy ass as my 15th man. His work ethic could be contangious. Ewing Jr., is the perfect 15th man as long as Knicks fans don’t even say his name in the same breath of his father. Ewing is a a high character guy who will work hard against others in practice and be a good cheerer at the end of the bench. He actually has a very high basketball IQ. Good defender and passer.
