With their 2010 pick forfeited by trade, the summer of 2009 is basically the last chance that they have to get some good players before the summer of LeBron etc…Galinari didnt really have a rookie season and this draft is weak. With alot of holes to fill on the team. Are the Knicks in dire need of a good offseason/[pick??

the knicks could get a top 10 player in the draft ( Earl Clark, James Johnson….Personally I think they should take Tyreke Evans) and they have like 5 or 6 players who will be FA the 2010 offseason so I think teams will try to deal with the Knicks to get so cap space next season.

What I think they should do

Trade down…try to add a 2nd round pick in the Draft
Draft Tyreke Evans and Taj Gibson, Dionte Christmas or Jermaine Taylor ( If they get a 2nd rounder)
    Dig through Free Agency
Sign a couple guys who can help ( Ramon Sessions, Linas Klezia, Paul Milsap)
    Resign David Lee

If a trade with their pick and Lee or Robinson can move them up to land a top player in the draft I’d do it. Since thats unlikely though, I like trading down because they need young talent. Just don’t draft a small forward thats one position they actually have some talent at. I don’t want David Lee to me he’s a stat guy with a limited defensive game his offense is improving but not a 9-10 mill. Either trade him for draft picks or let him walk, I have no idea what they are planning to do with Nate Robinson. I doubt they can land Milsap the Jazz seem to be high on him.

I’m not banking on Lebron, Wade most likely goes to Chicago or stays with Miami. They could land Joe Johnson or Bosh, I want no part of Amare he plays no defense & has bad knees. Need to somehow get a pg or center in the offseason. Teams definately will be looking to make trades to get some expiring contracts they have its definately worth it. Never know might land a gem like the Lakers did with Gasol for cap room. Plenty of 2nd tier guys available in 2010 too like Camby, Mike Miller, Brad Miller, Haslem, & others.

Definately if Lebron wins a championship much better chance of him coming to NY.

Why else would Lebron stay? He could say- “wow I won a rookie of the year, MVP and Title in Cleveland what is there else to do?” “Do i go to the most famous arena and play for one of the most popular and storied Franchises or remain in Cleveland? I dunno…may be a hunch

We have no hope of signing Lebron. He’ll never leave his community that he loves and a winning team to go to a rebuilding Knicks team. Wade is a great player but injuries will eventually cut his career short. I want to trade down to maybe get a first rounder next year. Terrence Williams is a great player that we could steal in the late first or possibly early second round. He is very athletic, defends and passes great and can knock down an open shot. Perfect fit for us by strengthening up our D. If we dont move down then we have to take a chance on Evans or Jennings. They are the only players that could be available for us that have superstar potential. Our best move is to trade for some first rounders next year and pray we can get JOHN WALL. That kid moves like Rose, finishes like Wade and has a solid jumper. Try to sign Gerald Green and/or trade for Anthony Randolph who Donnie Walsh loves this offseason.

I love John Wall and as a NYK fan….it would be sweet to get him

if the Knicks get Randolph in the offseason….i’d faint

I disagree about Lebron….if he wins a title…why stay. I think the Knicks could contend for a playoff spot next year…if they do….they will go

    1-Lebron

    2- Bosh

3-Wade ( Walsh will look at his injuries and drop him a spot)

Trading for Randolph would be nice but who would we give up, Golden State has made stupid moves but they know they can get a better deal than anything the Knicks will do but I would love that pick up. I would say drafting Curry or Jennings would be a must for the Knicks unless they got top 2 than Rubio or Griffen. I would try to trade Curry because this draft lack big men and also you may make a trade with a team trying to get rid of a contract. I see the Knicks trying to grab a point guard or a center. everything else can be had easily and you have a lot of quality perimeter players on the team and available as free agents. There are no Centers in this draft that would work for the Knicks so drafting a point would be essential.

sign and trade Nate or work out a 3-way with Portland who loves Lee. I’d trade Lee for Randolph and Bayless. Golden State gets Outlaw since they only have Maggette at the 3. I just hope we get Jennings or Evans in this draft and pray we can make some moves for picks in next years draft

forget about gettin lebron he iznt leaving the cavs so i think they should with there lottery pick if either player is there take brandon jennings or tyreke evans becuase they both will fit in with there system then in the 2nd round trade that pick and harrington for a legit shot blocker then trade nate depending on which player they draft. then sign telfair as a back up pg which i think would help there rebuilding process becuase they were actually good this season until they traded crawford and randolph

I’m really not concerned about lebron leaving cleveland.i’d much rather prefer a total team.bottom line is, this team needs to come away with the best player available, and donnie needs to work some magic for next year’s draft.whether it’s aldrich, davis or wall, we need one of those guys as well.
