if the Knicks organization said they could get lebron if coach cal came with him but it was the fans decision, meaning yall would have to decide to keep or fire d’antoni. keep him and you dont get lebron fire him and you get lebron and cal and most likely another max player….what would you do???

I would never hire him as a coach for my team. All offense and no defense.

thats funny because memphis kentucky and umass was all ranked high in team defense while he was coaching there so that no defense thing doesnt fly

Is that a serious question? Of course you fire D’antoni if it guarantees you LeBron and another max player.

yeah its a very serious question becaus ei asked the same thing in another chat room and 7 out of 13 knicks fans said no they wouldnt fire D’Antoni and they made pretty good points as to why they wouldnt one of which was the respect that the team would lose and how alot of players would lose respect for the team./coach and lebron because they would view lebron as being mor eof the coach then the actual coach since he’s the reason the coach is even there. i know some would say well what about pat riley” but the difference is pat has already been there and done that as far as winning and titles so his track record speaks for its self

I have made a post about this before.. There are 3 things that he does wrong.

    1. Defense.. No need to explain here
    2. Size.. He never has a C taller than 6’10…
    3. Rotation.. Playing only 8, offensive minded, players doesnt work in the playoffs..

When it comes down to it, it’s all about winning. Having LeBron on your team gives you a much better chance of that than having D’Antoni as a coach. And let’s face it, LeBron is always going to be bigger than whoever is coaching him.

However, I don’t think LeBron is that selfish of a person. He has a relationship with D’Antoni through the Olympic team and I don’t think he would want to see somebody lose their job at his expense.

I know LeBron cut off the free-agency talks at some point during the season, but he shouldn’t have ever allowed the free-agency talk to hang over his team at all this season. For that reason, yea… The kid is somewhat selfish.

all great players are selfish( minus the non scoring point guards) but he’s less selfish then some of the other stars like kobe and jordan. which isnt a good thing depending on the team youre on

Well the Knicks don’t want LeBron as bad as the Cavs, at least they didn’t make an embarassing song-video for him

    <——— Knick Fan

No question, D'Antoni gets the boot, regardless

If the Knicks were choosing Cal or D'Antoni, Lebron doesnt even need to be guaranteed, Im taking Calipari 24/7

And Yeah, the Knicks want Lebron just as badly as the Cavs, it'd be funny if he disses both teams and chooses Chicago/Jersey/Miami

These rumors of Calipari and Lebron with the Bulls or another team are stupid.
Whats so great about Calipari he sucked with the Nets give me a proven coach over a college coach any day.
D’antoni has never had guys that play much defense Nash, Amare, QRich, most of Knicks roster.
Marion was the exception. He’s gotta be doing something right winning 60 games twice and over 50 wind 4 years in a row. Mike Brown was known to be a defensive coach, the Cavs played D yet he only got into the Finals once that was thanks to Lebron and that great game against the Pistons. Rest of the years they mostly lost in the Conf. semis.
I do agree D’antoni needs to play more players the short rotation doesn’t work esp. in the regular season.
If you watched the Knicks in Dec./Jan you’d see they played more D once Jeffries left the D was just awful.
If Lebron wants to play for a great coach go to Miami and have Riley coach the team.

Cal will get killed in the NBA, so no I do not want Lebron that badly. The Knicks don’t need Lebron in order to win. My plan as stated in another thread would be to draft Greivis Vasquez as the starting point guard, sign Joe Johnson as the starting Shooting guard, Gallo at the 3, Resign Lee at the 4, and draft Jerome Jordan to play the 5. Have Wilson Chandler as the 6th man, Toney Douglas, Eddie House, Bill Walker, and Earl Barron as the bench. To me very realistic and a team that can win right away. I love Vasquez, I know you love him as well Quincey. I think Vasquez with the Knicks can average 12 and 6 his rookie season in that system. He is also a born leader.

sloan has zero titles. and its up to D’Antoni to make his players play defense just liek other coachs have. avery got dalls to play D. Every one knows that D’Antoni is more concerned with offense then he is with defense
