TimberTrollParticipantIf Gordan Hayword and Parson Chandler get max money than Klay Thompson is underpaid.

BiggysmallsParticipantHonestly there is no consistency with contracts in the NBA. I can’t tell who is overpaid these days. Kyle Lowry makes 12 mil, Ricky Rubio may be getting 14 soon…its mind bottling. Klay seems like a nice player, but he’s like Golden State’s 3rd best player and they are at best the 4th best team in the West. The new TV deal is the real MVP for these nba players.

machu46ParticipantThe second they turned down trading Thompson for Kevin Love, he was getting a max deal. And who’s better than Klay on that team besides obviously Curry? I think Golden State for sure considers Klay to be their 2nd best player.

HitsterParticipantThe guy is a quality player and is very durable but I don’t see him as a virtually max guy. He’s not an All Star and hasn’t had a 20ppg season yet. But Hayward, Parsons etc got similar deals so if that is the market value then GSW have to pay it. If the new TV deal is worth what is stated then teams will be able to splash the cash.
The Warriors will have a hefty cap next year with $65 million aprox tied up on Klay, Iggy, Bogut, Curry and Lee.

IndianaBasketballParticipantKlay Thompson is a phenomenal shooter and competes well at the defensive end, but what else does he do?
He doesn’t create for anyone. He doesn’t get to the free-throw line. He doesn’t rebound…
I like Thompson, but I just don’t see how he’s worth $70 million dollars.

The Scare Crow RisesParticipantThe NBA has to get a handle on these contracts, it’s getting ridiculous…
I really like KT, but I would never pay him that, he would have been traded ala James Harden(I’m sure the Warriors would have found takers and depth never hurts)0 - Posted on: Sat, 11/01/2014 - 3:52pm #954045
