BasketBalAllanParticipantKlay Thompson is making Warrior fans happy right now. Who needs Monta when Klay has 28 on 10-13. In 27 minutes.

cabbycabParticipantNot having seen him in college, he definately has been a pleasant surprise for me. Has really good size…listed at 6’7”, but looks about 2 inches taller. Can flat out shoot and he is not shy about doing it.

db24kb24ParticipantHe makes the transition a lot easier for W’s fans. Lets keep it in perspective though, these are the Kings…Thing is Monta was the leader, he lead by his energy, effort & ability. Klay has a bright future and he’ll be even better when/if Curry gets back.

B FreeParticipantWell he measured at 6’7 in shoes he can shoot and he has a great mid range game which is lost now adays but he doesn’t do much else then score, as shown by the boxscore.

llperezjust a little shout out to both teams played hard who last season replied to me when I said Klay was the second best player in the pac 10 behind derrick williams that" Wow, if klay is the second best player in the pac, then that conference is worse then i could have ever imagined. That guy is garbage" or something along those lines, aint that right both teams…

aamir543ParticipantReally glad he’s playing well, I hope we lose though, continue to develop our young players, tank this season, get say a Perry Jones in the draft, get Steph Curry and Bogut some German Surgeries, and continue to develop Klay, and we have a bright future ahead of us.

aamir543Participant^I know it sounds stupid, but what’s the use of winning now, we’re not going to make the playoffs, and we don’t get our pick unless it’s top 7. I’d rather us win a close one tonight, rather than suffer a heartbreaking loss, but in general it’s in our best interest to get that pick.

BasketBalAllanParticipantThat was an “interesting” end to the game. In the words of my gf “Jefferson just spider monkeyed that ball in the hoop!”

Tongue-Out-Like-23ParticipantI’ve said it before, he reminds me a lot of Kevin Martin. This is going to be a smooth transition for the Warriors. Hopefully Bogut and Curry can stay healthy.

Bmore_DCParticipanti will admit i was wrong about Klay…the jury is still out on his defensive ability but he has the size to not be a liability (i.e. jimmer)…
this past draft has a lot of GMs scratching their heads…a lot of sleepers and not a lot of great players taken early…im sure some teams like the Wizards would do things a lot differently looking back, even though it has only been one year

ZeeProfessorParticipantIf he keeps this up, the Warriors will have a strong chance of making the playoffs next season!
Bogut and Lee in the post with Wright or Jefferson starting at SF and a backcourt of Curry and Klay will be really good. Richard Jefferson’s experience will be really helpful for these young guys

The8thDeadlySinParticipantI have said before that I thought he could be a 20 points per game guy.. He showed it last night. He just has great feel for the game and is very comfortable with the ball..

Chilbert arenasParticipantSo he looks 6’9?

Jlv2012the worst defense in the league. Anything less than 20 points would have been a failure for him.

WeavvvParticipantHe’s not a terrible defender. His lateral quickness is definitely lacking, but other than that, it’s quite a stretch to compare him to Jimmer’s level of being a defensive liability.
Klay has certain tools that could make him a decent defender, at least.. not a complete liability. Hopefully Mark Jackson will be able to push this onto him.. considering when he took over the team he said he wanted to build a ‘defensive juggernaut’..and instead, he just let Monta continue to jack up 20 shots a night and not play defense.
Now that Klay is pretty wall entrenched in the starting line up, he’ll be able to get more attention from Jackson and hopefully continue to grow on BOTH sides of the floor.Otherwise, Klay has really been playing well. It suits that he’s been able to come off the bench all year behind a pretty damn good scorer in this league, as well as playing along with, or behind, some guys that feed into his game, and can give him tips. Playing with Wright, who has become a pretty deadly shooter from the perimeter, especially in heavy streaks, has been able to help Klay’s transition from that to the NBA. Watching Klay play against UW every year, the dude could be straight up scary bringing the ball up the court. He often had the ‘jimmer’ mentality, when he’d bring the ball up.. that he was the only capable player on his team, and would take the first shot he would see. But it’s already been seen that he’s been able to subdue that quite a bit, in his stint in the league so far. He’s a pretty promising player, I really like what I’ve seen from him at this level, so far, and although Joe Lacob is probably pissed, it is in fact helping their transition, from a basketball standpoint, immensly.
