Michael.S.ParticipantI could understand OKC not taking Rubio somewhat, because they fulfilled another one of their needs with a good player in Harden, but the friggin Kings what the hell is wrong with u Rubio falls into ur damn laps,u loved him, and u take a 6’7 combo guard when u needed a damn true point guard Rubio is superior(W,BPA), they Will regret it forever

13kavakgreat rest of the draft but what were they thinking ??

Meditated StatesParticipantI still think they needed a point more than a combo guard. Evans is a possible star though. They played it safe.

TyroberParticipantthey did play it safe in evans but should have gotten rubio without question imo.

13kavakwhen your sick and puking not hard to figure out he wanted to be a king too

futureGM22Participantit sounded like he wanted to be a King. Before the draft during his interview he said how he loved the pasta in california. sacremento should of drafted him
now he gets drafted by the timberwolves…and he is going to play with johny flynn… i think both rubio and flynn would have been good pros, but the wolves might have messed up both of their developments….0 - Posted on: Thu, 06/25/2009 - 6:24pm #171673
WildDudeParticipantGreat pick! Rubio is far from a sure thing, who knows how much more he’ll develop.

futureGM22ParticipantEvans isn’t a sure thing either and he’s not even a pure point guard. He averaged less than 4 assists per game while rubio had 6 assists per game while playing half as many minutes per game. Evans has terrible shooting mechanics too. I hate seeing him shoot the ball

eprizzle14ParticipantRubio can pass great in transition and finish good, be not with authority. I think thats why they went with Evans. They needed someone who can punch the opponent in the mouth. (not literaly) I’m pretty sure they see Evans as a PG, I like the bigger PG’s ie; Evans, Stuckey, even Curry has good size he’s really bulked up.

llperezI thought they would go with Rubio because he would help put people in the stands if nothing else. But Evans could be the better player, plus he defends well which the pg better be able to do when playing alongside KMart.

sheltwon3ParticipantRubio should have been the pick because they already has a shooting guard with point guard skills in Fransico. I do think that maybe he reminded them of Beno and that other European player they trade to Memphis.

NYK2010ParticipantI thought they were going to take Flynn.

king_til_i_die23ParticipantHe cost us Rubio, He picked Evans because he is in a contract year an he thinks evans will produce more at the start of his career which i think he will. The fact is he Just mortgaged our future so he could get a new contract. I have been behind him while others wanted him gone, but im sick of it now. He must go!

king_til_i_die23ParticipantDo you guys think there is any chance we trade Evans for Rubio, Minnesota still needs a SG even though they draft two PGs.
What about something like…
We give: Evans and Brockman (or someone else)
We get: Rubio

gedrosolanParticipantif you have seen the kings youtube site, it’s pretty apparent that both the maloofs and petrie are excited about evans.

Meditated StatesParticipantJennings should have been their pick.

MattissickParticipantEvans will be a better pro that Rubio for sure but I think they should have taken Curry. They need excitement not a big guard who will be an average point guard and only put up good numbers because of his size.
