I know that Kevin Durant has been the leauge’s scoring champion for 2 consecutive years running now, but there is something he can really improve on that I think will take his game to a new level, scoring and defensively. It’s something that has been brought up since his years of high school and college, but now it’s more obvious in this series against the Grizzlies. He needs to bulk up. He’s been getting bullied by Battier and Allen from a physical standpoint. I know they’re great defenders, but the way they’re holding him up from making his cuts is ridiculous. He barely gets seperation sometimes. Artest did it to him last year too. I think just a little more strength would help him out a lot, especially if he wants to ascend to the next level. He’s great right now, but he can be even better. What do you guys think?

He needed about 5 more pounds of muscle to get that 35 footer he just launched at the end of the 2nd overtime to the rim.

I don’t know about you all but I personally HATE KD’s go to move! I hate it for the simple fact that  always settles for the J when he has clearly beat his man off the dribble with the hesitation move. Rather him go to the rack after he gets his man with the hesitation step he backs up for a J that he makes majority of the time, but he can capatolize if he attacked the rack.

It may not apply to KD but i hope you realize their are genetic limitations to people’s bodies. Without the help of steroids or supplements people are limited to 3 body types that are pretty basic.  Skinny normal and fat.  This why you see fat people hardly losing weight without help and skinny people getting really defined but never bulking up.

Yes, strength is Durant’s achilles heel right now. He needs to add weight in the offseason.

I like players to be agressive too, however… I think we have to make an exception for a handful of guys like Durant and Dirk. If they take a midrange shot over a smaller defender, we have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

Also, Durant gets to the FT line like crazy. It’s not like he "settles" for jumpers, he just mixes them into his game. (For example, Kobe’s jumpers in the Mavs series were a problem. Even though he was nailing them, it became one dimensional. He stopped getting to the line, and stopped giving easy shots to his big men under the basket)

GIVE DURANT THE DAMN BALL. (or harden)

Durant seems very resistant to the idea of weight training though, he seems very comfortable with his frame. There’s no guarantee he’d keep his fluidity and quickness if he gained weight, it’s tempting to just leave well enough alone rather than risk it.
