Kevin Durant
i've seen him stand together with howard in a picture. they both seemed to be standing straigh and at the same height... i'm not sure though, maybe i need glasses. durant is extremely gangly and tall...
I heard Steve Smith say Durant is 7 feet..dont know if he was joking or not...
Durant was measured at 6'9 in socks at the '07 combine, while Green was 6'9 in shoes the same year. Fun fact: Durant measured almost exactly the same as Dwight Howard at their respect combines, height AND wingspan (obviously except Dwight weighed more), Dwight was only about 3 months older.
I've seen Jeff Green a lot when he was in college, he's probably 6-7ish. Also Dwight's closer to 6-10" than he is to 7 foot. I think 6-9" is about right for KD. His lanky build and freakishly long arms help create the image of him being like 7-2"
I have him on my association team in 2k11, and he is listed as 6'9, but I could easily see him being 6'10. His long arms is what make him seem so much taller.
about the comment on dwight howard. i also am goin to lean toward height measurements that are shorter rather than longer. People seem to want to boost stat heights when it comes to basketball players. I played a little bit my freshman and sophomore year and im am 5'10. but in the guide they listed me at 6 ft. I think its jus sumthin people do becuz in shoes yea they prob are a inch or 2 taller but the stat line jus makes u look better thats all
Kevin Durant is without a doubt at least 6' 10'' according to his pre-draft measurements. He could be taller too considering his measurements were taken when he was 18 and he was behind the curve in terms of physical maturity for his age at the time. So, he could very easily grown a little bit more.
Also, there have been a few other players who have mentioned Durant to be taller than his listing. Like Kevin Love, who during the USA's training camp this summer, looked at the camera after KD had a nice move and said "That's 6' 11" right there. "
I hate how Durant lists himself at 6'9. It's so deceptive because he's really 6'11 might be 7'0 by now.
In 2007 Jeff Green measure in at 6'7.5 in socks and 6'9 in shoes with a 7'0 wingspan.
Kevin Durant measured in at 6'9 in socks. And does it even matter what he measure in sneakers because he had a 7'5 wingspan. The rumors over the summer Team USA had a physicals and Durant was even taller then 6'9 closer to 6'10 in socks now but he don't want to be looked at like a freak so he's listed at 6'9. I hear somewhere that 6'11 is too tall to play in the wing so he wants himself to be listed at 6'9 to be considered a pure wingman....weird...
Anyway here is your answer.http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/kevin-durant-390/
Jeff Green is 6'9
Kevin Durant is 6'11
The reason basketball players are listed higher then their height in socks is because nobody plays in socks plus it is used to compensate for their wingspan difference. Nobody rebounds or blocks shots with their head so they compensate the height with their wingspan too. Like Cole Aldrich only measured in at 6'9 in socks but he had a 7'6 wingpsan and a 9'4 reach bringing his height value closer to 6'11.
Iggy for instance is actually the same height as Thad Young in socks. And they both have the same wingspan. But Young is listed at 6'8 and Iggy is listed at 6'6 I dunno why.
Hahaha hockey players would be tall as hell in skates...That would add like 4 inches to everybodies height...
But height in basketball is more important then any other sport. It actually works against you in football sometimes...And some football players do get their heights padded. Like Desean Jackson is only 5'9 but listed at 5'11.
It all depends on a players wingspan and standing reach to me. If two players stand the same height in socks but one player has a wingspan that is 4 inches longer that is a big difference in basketball and I think that player should be listed like an inch taller then the other player.
kevin durant in 2k10 is listed 6'10, in all honesty your account of a 6'9 height is probably accurate for his rookie year... but durant, like a lot of young players like himself, anthony randolph, and javale mcgee have all grown greatly during the past few years...
Dwight Howard is 6-11
Kevin Durant is 6-10
Jeff Green is 6-9
Kevin Durant looks the same to me. He didn't grow another inch. This reminds me of the "LeBron grew a couple inches" rumor 4 years ago. Durant didn't grow at all. He's 6-10
Actually Dwight Howard and Kevin Durant are the same exact height according to their combine measurements.
Both Durant and Howard checked in at 6'9 in socks and they both had 7'5 wing spans.
http://www.draftexpress.com/profile/Dwight-Howard-2888/
And apparently people are disagreeing with me on whats real. Weird.
Esperanz, I'm sorry but most people don't grow much if at all after age 18. Also, If Durant has grown doesn't it also seem likely that Dwight Howard has grown too?
And you're part right players rarely grow once theyre in the league even when players come in the league after High School. But a players body will still develop fully untill they are 25 not 21. And it's not uncommon for a player to grow an inch. But thats about it. Hedo Turkoglu is an examply of somebody who really did hit a growth spurt once in the league but he is a very rare example.
If Kevin Durant grew an inch it wouldn't be shocking because his body was still maturing once he entered the league. He was still filling out and growing. DH looks like he got taller too and I'm only judging that by watching him matchup wit Hakeem at the Dream Camp DH was easily taller.
No Durant is listed at 6'9 in 360's 2k10 and Durant is still listed at 6'9 in 2k11 because thats what the NBA media guide lists him at. But its extremely annoying because it makes the game unrealistic considering Durant is not that height he is taller and its especially corny when you play against somebody like Mike Beasley who is listed at 6'10 despite being closer to 6'8 and Beasley is just flat out taller then Durant despite being atleast 2 inches shorter in real life and their wingspans are like a 5 inch difference.
why you are saying Durant lists himself 6'9 watch there.. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5rSeWQvmRIU he said 6'11 and i don't understand 6'9 comments while he measured over 6'10 3yrs ago.
Kevin Durant is 6'9 in socks. And so was Dwight Howard when they got measured.
Howard and Durant were both measured as 6'9 exactly in socks with 7'4.5 wingspans and 9'4 standing reaches.
This is not my opinion these are the official measurements.
And judging height from that picture is very deceptive. First off you can't see their whole body or how far or close they are standing therefore you have no relation to distance. And Durant is obviously not standing straight up as evidenced by the fact he is leaning into the picture.
By NBA standards Kevin Durant is atleast 6'10.
Michael Beasley is 6'7 in socks. 6'8.25 in shoes. With a 7' wingspan and a 8'11 standing reach.
Jeff Green is 6'7'75 in socks. 6'9.5 in shoes. With a 7'1 wingspan and a 8'7 standing reach.
Kevin Durant is 6'9 in socks. 6'10.5 in shoes. 7'4.5 wingspan and 9'4 standing reach.
If Michael Beasley is listed at 6'9 you could make a case for Jeff Green being listed as 6'10.
And you can see the difference in not only height but wing span making Durants height value atleast 6'11. If both Jeff Green and Micheal Beasley are listed at 6'9 you gotta think Durant should be listed at 6'11 look at the difference in height and reach that makes Durant taller.
Dude I really don't care about my points...You just raped me for over 500 points in the last few days notice that I'm still posting on the site....At the end of the day the only thing that matters is who makes sense and who don't and whose having fun and whose not..
Thats a picture from the same game that makes Durant look like he's 3 inches taller then Howard. Pictures have a depth perception to them that must be taken into account when judging height.
I don't take points at all. I come here, talk ball, leave. That's it. No reason to me too.
Also, Howard has to be 7-0 if Durant is 6-10. Howard is taller. Can we at least agree Durant is nowhere near 7-0?

NO I didn't mean you knicksboy I meant the phantom point pilferer who I dunno who it is but I think you're better then that.
And my point was coming into the league. Both Durant and Howard had the same exact measurements. They both measure 6'9 in socks with the same wingspan.
And over the summer it was rumored during team usa's physicals that Durant was closer to 7'0 then 6'9. They said he measured in at 6'10 in socks combined with a mammoth wingspan making his height value closer to 7'0.
Durant is easily 6'11 in my eyes.
Howard came out of high school and might of grew an inch maybe even 2.
I honestly think that they are probably around the same exact height. If I had to choose one to be taller I would probably say Howard is taller by maybe a half inch. But not by 2 inches.
If you got to draftexpress.com they got a historical measurement database so it is no secret what players actual heights are. The secret is if they grew an inch or not. I think Howard certainly grew and from what the players were saying on Team USA Durant has grown. Like Kevin Love is listed at 6'10 but conceded that Durant was taller during Team USA scrimmages.
Kevin Durant's height is becoming even more of a mystery than LeBron James' weight....
Durant isn't seven feet tall... I don't even think he's 6' 11". He just has freakishly long arms and legs. That Durantula nickname fits him perfectly.
I went to the Pacers vs OKC game last season and took plenty of pictures of him standing straight up and next to Danny Granger. Granger is a legit 6' 8". I'd say Durant has him by a good 1.5 - 2 inches.
It's not really a mystery at all you have access to their official measurements and you can take that date and understand that he didn't get shorter, he may have grown an inch but he didn't lose an inch.
Everybody in the NBA gets likes an inch and a half bumper on their measurements. So if you give Durant that bumper he is 6'11.
Danny Granger is Jeff Greens height. He's 6'7.5 in socks. So you're right he is about 1.5 inches shorter then Durant.
Durant measured 6' 9" w/o shoes at the combine. Shoes usually give you 1-1.25 inches, so he's 6' 10.25" with shoes.
I don't think he's grown that much since 2007, especially not almost an inch. I think he's just short of 6' 11"... Not close to 7' 0", unless you're just declaring him that because of his wingspan and reach.

How tall is this guy really?? Has anybody been on nba.com recently? The preview team is the OKC Thunder w/ Kevin, Russ, and Jeff. I know Russell is 6'3", Jeff is 6'9", but Kevin looks WAAAAAY taller than Jeff and Kevin is supposesdly 6'9". He looks 7'2"!!! Check that out.
