All of the Seattle fans are excited about what has happened in the efforts to get the Kings to Seattle, even though they would be taking the Kings out of California's capital city.
There are also a lot of rumors about if Seattle does get the team, Phil Jackson would be their GM as he and Chris Hansen "hit it off". This, got the Seattle fans even more excited throughout this process
Earlier today, this picture got the Seattle fans even more excited
I know it's a complete long shot, but they believe that Kevin Durant might come back to the place where he was drafted after his time with OKC is up.
Now i want to ask you guys, if Sacramento does go to Seattle, is there even a slight chance that KD leaves the Thunder to go play for the Sonics?
Also, are all of the Seattle fans getting too excited for nothing?
Why would Durant leave OKC? Regardless of the Harden trade and the Westbrook injury, they are still a contending team in will continue to be in the long term. Why would Durant give that up just to "come back to the place where he was drafted?"
It's not enough for me.
I think Durant is a smart player, and understands what it takes to win basketball games. Right now OKC has the greatest chance to do that with Westbrook, Ibaka, and the accumulated wealth of prospects they bring in every year, and Durant knows that. While I don't think the Thunder can win a championship with Scott Brooks, I think it's rude to blindly write off what the OKC front office has managed to do. In just a short time they have created a culture and identity for the present and future (Lamb, Jones, Jackson, and the lottery pick this year); How can KD walk away from that? For a superstar to walk, the FO has to mess up big time like Orl and Cle (Those contracts…).
Yea why would he leave OKC for Seattle?
It's not like Seattle is his hometown or anything, just the team that drafted him first....not enough to go back at least I don't believe so.
Durant's not even from Seattle. It's about as far away from his hometown as he can get.
Why would he go back? Just because it's the same city he first was drafted to means nothing. The actual people that have been with him his whole career are in OKC.
If Durant is going to go anywhere it'd be to the Wizards; can you imagine a prime Wall, Durant and Beal? That trio is so much more compatible than Harden, Westbrook, Durant was.
Can you tell me why you think the Wizards are frontrunners here or why Beal and Wall are superior to Harden and Westbrook?
in his defense, he did say more compatible, not superior. I believe he was going with the notion that Westbrook, Harden and Durant are all at their best with the ball in their hands. where as Beal is better playing off the ball, and Wall is more of a distributer than Westbrook. Leaving Kevin to have more shots and touches.
Durant was born in DC and Beal and Wall complement him perfectly on the court.
That said, I think Durant stays put - they have Lamb, Jones III and a top 10 pick to go along with Westbrook and Ibaka - this team is well positioned to be the next Spurs - coaching aside!
