Five-star prospects Skal Labissiere and Isaiah Briscoe committed to Kentucky on Thursday as members of the 2015 recruiting class.

Labissiere is rated as the No. 11 player in the ESPN 100. He’s a 6-foot-10 center regarded as a shot-blocker with lots of upside. He chose Kentucky over Baylor, Georgetown, Memphis, North Carolina, and Tennesseee.

Briscoe is rated as the No. 13 player in the ESPN 100 and the No. 1 point guard. The 6-foot-3 prospect is a powerful presence that can play either guard spot. He chose Kentucky over Connecticut and St. John’s.

The five-stars join shooting guard Charles Matthews as members of Kentucky’s 2015 class.

Skal must be counting on a mass exodus in that front court

I wonder if Skal will be eligible.  We may be looking at another Mudiay to China with him…

Dont know much about Skal, but im from NJ and i know of Briscoe. I am a senior in high school also so we are in same graduating class and i almost went to st benedicts when i was going to highschool. I play ball recreationally though and I never met him or seen him play.

I do think that he is very overrated. Even in his hoop mixtapes he looks underwhelming. He is not athletic, doesn’t have a great handle, doesn’t have a great shot, and is not a good passer. I think the only reason he is so highly rated now is because his big frame allows him to over power his defenders. As he moves to the next level, he will be much less effective. He is also cocky as shit.

My comp for him is khaliff wyatt. A combo guard that is able to put the ball in the basket though not being exceptional at anything. I might be wrong about my assessment on wyatt because the only time I have seen him play is in the summer league, but I was impressed by him. Dont think he made the 76ers roster though

Everything I have read about Skal just screams major red flags. He is going to play for a team that doesn’t even exist in Reach Your Dream Prep….The founder of this so-called school is Skal’s guardian. It also seems that though his guardian is bent on really prospering off of him, which seems to be an unfortunate theme for many high profile recruits these days. Skal seems like an immense talent, but could ultimately kill the Kentucky program. I agree with Jayhawks in that he most likely will not be eligible to play in college and might end up going overseas.

I believe he will be eligible. He still attends one of the top acadimic H.S in Memphis were he has an 3.6 GPA. The basketball team his guardian created was only created for 2 reasons. 1 so that he would not have to sit out 2 consecutive seasons since he was injured last year and now with him transferring. 2 so he would be eligible for the post seasons games like the McDonald and jordan all star games. His guardian did try to profit off of him and tried to use him to get an assistant coach Jon with is common and happens all the tim(happened with Isiah Whitehead) but teams were not interested except for Ole Miss who later passed.
